Renaissance Equestrian Center Horse boarding, classical dressage instruction and training. Owned and operated by Dawn Arnold. Indoor and outdoor arenas.

We specialize in helping people become better riders, and improving communication between horse and person. Our riding program is based on using non forceful methods to train horses to work in lightness and self carriage. We pride ourselves in having a non-competitive atmosphere that encourages people at all levels to learn and grow at their own rate. For those needing some help with getting their

horses into a good balance we offer part or full training as a way to educate the horse so that the rider can access better information. Our boarding program insures that horses are kept happy and comfortable in a low stress environment. We feed quality grain and hay, and check horses regularly. Daily turnout is the norm, as much as 24 hours out in good weather. 12 x12 box stalls are cleaned daily.

This afternoon boarders and I saw the reappearance of the fox family we have had the pleasure of watching over the last month. Here are photos of some kit shenanigans, and the watchful mom fox.

We will have a stall opening soon as one of our well liked horse and rider pairs relocates to Canada. Come and join the friendly crew here. Lessons and training are available, and clients always get the first opportunity to participate in clinics we hosted. We always encourage growth, and we have a great crew of professionals who provide vet, farrier, massage, and dental work. Horses get lots of turnout here, as well as quality hay and Poulin feeds. Message for more information, or call 585-255-0227.

This handsome older gentleman has some room in his schedule for someone to part lease him. He's 25 and is suitable for light work, walk/trot/canter. He can still pop a few small jumps and he loves to hack out around the property. He is a large pony, just under 14.2hh and suitable for small adult riders. Get in touch for more information.

He has dressage training, has a good background in work in hand, and can comfortably carry riders up to 160 pounds. He stands around 14.1hh. The rider in the photo is 5' 7". If you are interested get in touch for more information. He is not for beginners.

It's time to plan for another Sunday Funday full of work in hand and lungeing! April 14 is the date. Since I feel that not enough people explore the improvement in posture that can be developed in horses from the ground, I love to promote this classical work. It's essential for horses with kissing spine issues, weak toplines, and those lacking core engagement. It develops the thoracic sling. It helps straighten and supple horses. It introduces lateral work from the ground. It can also give handlers a feel for balance from the ground as they feel engagement and lift.
Take a look at the photos included with this post of a horse diagnosed with kissing spine that I worked for 28 days between pictures, solely from the ground, and note the changes. Imagine the ways you could help your own horse become stronger and more able to perform for you through work in hand.
If you are working with a horse that needs some rehab work, or if you want to learn some schooling techniques that are likely to help preserve your horse's soundness, come and join us for the day. There will be demonstrations and opportunities to get a feel for the work with trained horses. Bring your own horse for a lesson and stay to watch others. Lessons are $50 each for approximately 45 minutes. A longer session that includes riding after setting up in hand is also an option, at $75 for 1 hour and 15 minutes total.
