Today at the Mid Coast Kennel Club of Maine in Union Maine Echo took an owner handled group fourth and Bodhi took a puppy group second🎉

Four days in Whitney Point NY and so much to say..Congrats and thank you to all for the help shuffling dogs and getting them in and out of the rings. Echo took BOB four days, Melody’s Leaf took BOS all four days and OHBOB(all but Sunday), puppy Bodhi took winners each day and Mama Tashi took select all four days. Echo took OHBOB Sunday and went on to take an Owner Handled Best In Show!🎉🎉She also finished her Grand Champion Bronze on Sunday at 19 months old!!📣 Congratulations to Aerilyn for taking multiple firsts in her juniors classes with multiple Tibetan Mastiffs🎉Thank you Vesta and Jess for handling Echo to four Working group fourths over the four days and taking winners with puppy Bodhi on Sunday. Thank you Jaime Scott, Echo’s primary handler for sending us to Vesta. Congratulations also to David Osborne, Echo’s breeder💕

We had a great time in North Kingston, RI today getting everybody out for the pup’s first show for points! Under judge Dr. Michael J Woods Miss Echo took BOB and Owner handled BOB, Melody Shepard’s Leaf took BOS, Mama Tashi took select and Bodhi took winner’s for his first point! Echo also took a group 4th under judge Judy A Harrington for our first regular working group placement! Thank you to the judges and to Kerri McComiskey Boyd for helping us get everybody into the ring and taking winner’s with Bodhi🥰 I’m proud of both puppies for doing so well in the ring today💕

Today was Nyima’s turn to shine as she took BOB over her brother and matched his puppy group 3rd with her own! As Nyima’s co owner, we would like to welcome Lorett Riley to the Great North Woods family💕!! Aerilyn was again handling our Best Of Breed today and did a great job with her!

The puppies had a good day over in Tunbridge VT. Bodhi/Great North Woods New Kid In Town took BOB Beginner puppy (with Aerilyn handling)over his sister Nyima/Great North Woods Tequila Sunrise (handled by me)and went on to take a beginner puppy working group 3rd!

On Friday 6/14 we attended two all breed shows in Brooklyn CT. Echo took Best of Breed for both with Tashi taking select and Aerilyn with Tashi took a Reserve Best Junior in the first show and a first in her class in the second show! Good job ladies💕

Tibetan Mastiff: One of the Most Ancient Dogs 🐾 Until the early 1800s, Tibet was a mystery to outsiders, with few Westerners allowed access to its remote splendor. Likewise, little was known about the country’s dogs. Accurate records of the genetic heritage of the breed are nonexistent, but they are considered by many to be the basic stock from which most modern large working-breeds developed. The TM is known in Tibet as the Do-Kyi, which translates to “tied dog,” as they were tied at the gates of the homes and temples they guarded.

Early written accounts place a large dog around 1100 B.C. in China. During the ensuing centuries, it’s thought that the isolation of Tibet (and later, because its borders were closed to the Western world) resulted in the TM remaining uninfluenced by Western breeds, and it developed into the animal so highly prized by the people of the high Himalayan Mountains and plains of Central Asia.🐾
