cuteness alert! Every day a plea for help comes in, whether it be a kitten found on a highway or little orphans under a shed. Town Cats is the difference between a kitten left struggling in the world or being made safe with a foster. We never want to have to say no when the call comes...please consider signing up to give a cat the chance at hope, and a place to thrive instead of just survive. Town Cats sure is feeling the ❤ this Thankful Thursday! The inaugural Roper Romp OC on Saturday provided much needed kitty supplies and cash donations...such a festive, colorful group that came out to have fun for a cause! Thank you Robyn Baker for putting together this soon to be annual craziness...we already can't wait for next year 😺 !!
On Tuesday, TC alumni Pip the Beach Cat, back stateside from Poland, stopped by Capricho's Books to help collect donations and visit his old stomping grounds. Check out our friend (and longtime supporter 💕) Alni Body Care even getting a rare 'high 5'!

Q& A time..Everything you need to know.

Where do we meet?
804 south Atlantic Ave for your gps. ("The Bar " at the inlet in the boardwalk in short). 3pm we will be set up by 2:30 for the early Helens.
There will be tables set up in the back of the bar where your donations are accepted, FUN Romp merchandise will be available to purchase with your donation ( limited stuff so come early), and any contest sign up.

Can I donate early?
Absolutely..venmo is set up please include " Roper Romp
Or you can donate directly to Town Cats via the website
Www.towncats.net. ( please put Roper Romp in your memo on the site).

Do I need to dress up.?
We won't know you are part of us if not. And... how are you going to win a prize if not!!! ?

Is there a charge to get in?
No. BUT Donations are accepted and encouraged. Profits go to Town Cats.
They are asking for friskies pate cans of turkey. Please no expired food. Only food for Cats are accepted. Not that we don't like dogs, but we are helping a cat rescue.
Or plain cash is great also.

What if it rains?
Bring an umbrella.

Where do I park?
As of right now the large park and ride at the inlet is not open due to an event. Might be by the 8th??
However, there is a lot next to the bus station downtown , it's all paid parking in the lot and most streets East of Baltimore Ave. Handicapped is just one hour free on the street.
The park and ride on 50 is free to park and the bus will drop you off close. I believe it's $2 ?
The busses will be running in OC.

Where are we going?
2:30ish-4 pm The Bar ( that's the name) group picture at 4pm at the end of the boardwalk by the life saving museum.
4-5pm The Cork Bar
5-6 pm The Bearded Clam
6-7pm Crawl St.Tavern
( feel free to at your own schedule)

Recently our friends at Worcester County Humane Society shared some stats on the reality of breeding dogs instead of adopting😔. What caught our eye was the very last line...

Town Cats wants to thank each and every adopter who chooses to save a life instead of supporting a cat breeder. Think you need to buy in order to get a certain breed or fancy cat? Take the time to look through local rescues...in the last year our tiny little rescue has had Persians, Himalayan and Siamese, so imagine what is available with a search on resources such as Petfinder. With every shelter over capacity, we can't save them all but each adoption from us and rescue partners means saving the life of that kitty while breaking the cycle of rampant reproduction dooming them to a life of misery. Much love to each adopter, volunteer, and supporter who chooses to be a part of the solution and helping us help them ! -Meow ❤

...for Fred!!!!

🐾 Handsome older gentleman who is tired of playing games is interviewing new laps for a permanent position in your heart...! 🐾

If you are ready to settle down (as in sit down...with a cat in your lap 😺) then do we have the guy for you! Poor Fred was definitely someone's treasured lap baby at some point in his life but somehow he found himself alone in the world being fed by a kind soul. Since outside is no place for such a floofy older sweetie, to Blufrog Farm he came. Once settled in there, volunteers realized that Fred's whole world centered on being held, cuddled, and relaxing in the lap of his chosen people ♥.

Fred is not shy (as in avoiding people) but it seems too many people have let down the poor guy in his life so he is hesitant to put himself out there again 😞 This gentle soul is almost impossible to see at Petsmart, as he spends his time tucked away, waiting for the volunteers to come love on him in whatever cubby he is hiding in. Once Fred does let you into his ♥ he just melts with love. 🐾 This is Rescue Part #877 🐾

One volunteer rushes one precious baby to the vet for emergency care as another is brought a box holding a tiny ball of sunshine... Sweet Mercury lost his battle with pneumonia but our little box baby is alive & thriving in foster care ❤ The outcomes are completely different but one thing is the same in both stories...vet bills 😔. The costs are staggering (even with our rescue discount at our wonderful vets 💕) but absolutely necessary. Please know that when you make a donation, these are the stories that you are helping be told. As an all volunteer non profit, every penny goes directly to saving these sweet souls. Thank you from all the kitties we are able to help 🐾 💕

We placed our first Seniors 4 Seniors cat this week. Moma went to live with Wayne Smith in Salisbury's Mallard Landing independent living facility. His own cat recently passed at age 18yrs. He was heart broken. One of his care takers knew of our sanctuary and asked if he could adopt.

S4S allows seasoned cat owners to foster a senior cat as long as they are able to properly care for the cat. TC retains ownership of the cat and stays in contact with the owner by monthly visits and facilitates and pays for any necessary vet care.

We hope this program is a win-win for some of our older cats and seniors who want to have a pet but need a little assistance. We'll keep you posted on Moma's and Wayne's progress!

When you hold an adoption event and come home with more cats than you left with... 🤪

(Note: the person relinquishing these kittens did so exactly right...they made a request for help and we made an appointment for them to be dropped to us and will get the mama spayed to keep this from happening again)

Now what? These little ones are too young for adoption and could benefit from some additional socialization so....Fosters please! Every day Town Cats receives requests for help just like this, and in an ideal world we could help every cat. One of our main goals is spaying/neutering community cats to prevent more homeless kitties, while helping find responsible homes for them. Our ability to help is directly related to how many fosters we have. Kitten foster is so rewarding and beyond cute. PLEASE consider signing up to foster. Faces like these depend on it ♥
