Good morning Birdhouse community. I hope everyone is enjoying the amazing weather. We did want to let everyone know what the Birdhouse is going to changing hours slightly. In the coming month or so we plan to be closed every Monday. All other days we will remain open with a blanket 8am-5pm. We will be reaching out to customers that have scheduled appointments on mondays in order to reschedule as needed. Exciting new changes in our shop are on the way and we are looking forward to seeing you all.

Good afternoon Birdhouse community. New year is right around the corner. A reminder that we will be closed on 12/31/24-01/01/25 for the holidays.
Fun bird myth. "If you feed birds regularly and go out of town the birds will go hungry." Not true there has been many studies done and a general consensus has been that birds that feed from feeders generally only get 25% of their food from it. The other 75% is from the wild since birds are natutal scavengers.

It’s already that time!! We are SO thankful to have had a great year here at the Wild Birdhouse 🐶🐥 We have accomplished so much this past year including a MASSIVE renovation (if you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for!?)

Don’t forget to pick up some cbd so your fur babies can stay calm during those pesky fireworks! 🎇 the loud noises can easily scare our furry friends.

These beautiful birds are non migrators here in NM that are a gorgeous blue and gray color ususally foraging on the ground in flocks. If you happen to spot one chances are there are more nearby, keeping a feeder stocked with a seed mix that caters to these littles ones will help them stock up over the winter. They typically save seed for later in caches that they find later when food is more scarce.

Rawhides Vs Collagen chews
Did you know Collagen chews are considered a healthier and better chew for your dog than Rawhides?
Here is why, rawhides are typically made of the epidermis of cows or horses which is the top layer of skin typically the same layer used for purses and leather. Which is treated in chemicals to make it more maliable for your pet, but still can not be digested.
Collagen is made of Corrium a more elastic layer below the skin, loaded with protein and amino acids. Collagen is easily digestible and more natural for your dog. As always keep an eye on your pup when they are chewing and avoid them swallowing anything large but Collagen is a safer treat for your dog always.

P.S. Pine needles can cause upset stomachs and cause cuts in their mouth and irrate bowels, keep an eye on your pup if you have a tree where they can reach it.

Good morning, due to weather and the current power outage affecting our area The Wild Birdhouse will be closed for the day. We will be getting in touch with anyone with a grooming scheduled for the day. Please be safe out there. Fun bird fact: Most birds have scale-like feet that even during the winter prevent their feet from sticking to metal like our tongues would to a flag pole. Also all our suet feeders have a laminate covering to prevent potential sticking of our feathered friends. Happy snow day!

Good morning Birdhouse Community. Lots of weather coming up these next few weeks. Birds are still hungry looking for every opportunity to eat. In the pictures are Gold Finches, Sparrows and House Finches. Be safe out there with all the weather coming in. Fun fact that birds eat more during the winter to produce more body heat you will also see them "fluff" themselves up to trap warm air close to their skin when it is cold out.
