Prudence tried like heck to raise her litter of five (by Scooter), but she just wasn't physically able to give them enough. Sugar and Tansy both have litters that are more robust and would have been able to outcompete Prudence's babies if I'd tried to foster them earlier. Now that Sugar's and Tansy's litters are more independent, I have put the three litters together so Sugar and Tansy can help with the Prudence pips. Watch for Sugar's velveteen girl and then Tansy's son Tam trying to drag me into the cage with them. 😄🥰 💜

Today we have a "Bad News, Good News" post.
Bad News: We've got many messages that haven't been replied to as we just didn't have an answer as to availability. We're sorry to say that at this time, the decision has been made to temporarily suspend placing pips from most of our *standard sized* lines. (Our dwarf lines are still available.) We've had a few disappointments in a row with the standards, and it's best not to continue to get people's hopes up. Some standard pips or retired standard adults may be made available on a case-by-case basis.
We're so proud of Kelliwic Mut for being a great mom and doing an excellent job raising her litter (by MKT Scooter) along with foster baby Kermit (by Scooter out of JWVR Tansy). Mut is a very friendly girl who loves attention and to give kisses, but unexpectedly, she was very protective of the babies when they were tiny. This would be great for survival in the wild, but is an inappropriate trait for the temperament of a pet. This Maternal Aggression (MA) can be passed on to offspring; females may get defensive when they have litters, and males may show Hormonal Aggression (HA), particularly after being bred to a female. A mature adult male with HA may aggressively fight with other males or possibly even be a bite risk to a human. Therefore, it will be back to the drawing board for our most of our standards, and particularly this line.
GOOD News: The dwarf mommas are doing wonderfully and we have 11 pips in three litters, mostly classic black, and lots of boys!
