Get ready to share in the quackery and honkery joy of some of the KBBY Kin! The first 2 Pekins you see are Romeo and Juliet. They are a bonded pair, and live in the small private coop on the right. Next you'll see a small group of Pekin ladies just a bit down the hill. They too have their own coop, as they all have slightly wonky legs and need protection from the males. Lastly, here comes the rest of the flock out the door of the big coop, followed by Miss Effie and Miss Gigi, the beautiful geese. Yep, it's this joyful every morning! Your generous donations keep these lovely beings healthy and strong by providing medicines for Rusty, BoJangles and Prancer (goats, arthritis), Miss Bupbup (Pekin duck), and all the other yak, alpacas, pigeons, rabbit, cats and chickens as medical conditions arise. With heavy heart, today we share this news. Yesterday, Joe found our wonderful Great Pyrenees Macy deceased. It was a horrible, horrible shock. Her death was obviously sudden, and totally unexpected. She had no known health issues and received regular veterinary care. There is no clue as to what ended her precious life. Macy was an amazing dog. As an LGD (livestock guardian dog) she had a strong protective instinct and was totally amazing with every animal kin living at KBBY. In early days, she loved romping in the backyard with Karma Bob the yak. She really wanted his horns! Certainly her strong bark kept predators on notice and at bay. She enjoyed digging dens, any ball or ball-shaped items what-so-ever, her turtle toy, and belly-rubs. She was strongly bonded with Joe, and enjoyed cuddling. She is, and always will be, deeply missed by all of us. Macy just turned 7 years young 5 days ago on Halloween. Please, in honor of Macy: take time every day to love on your precious animal kin. Tell your human kin you love them, tell your friends how special they are to you. Not a single day is guaranteed to us. Fly high precious girl, run fast into the brightest light. May you be reborn in a blooming lotus flower in Dewachen. We love you. 🐾 ❤️ 🐾

Good morning,
Yesterday Mama Mia’s 6 kittens were neutered. I was surprised that they were all boys. KBBY seems to have more males here than females, is that because males are often not wanted as much?

Wow! Thanks to your caring donations, the fundraising goal has been surpassed with 10 more days to go! Little Man has not been feeling well for the last three days, he’s lethargic, not eating much and he does not want to go in at night.
I’m not sure what is wrong with him but it started late Saturday after he got into the feed shed and had his way in there. Yesterday he did not engage the feed shed.
I have been giving him Probios as often as I can get it into him. He won’t let me sq**rt it into his mouth so I sq**rt some onto broccoli leaves and he will eat them for the most part. There is no way I can wrestle a 1,200 pound cow to give him meds.
Let me tell you there is nothing worse than a cow with diarrhea. Their poops are huge to begin with but this just takes it over the top.
Today he seems a little more engaging, this morning he had the feed shed door open again and pulled out two bags of feed on to the ground. Yes I lock the shed door but they have their ways. people say that cows are dumb and stupid, but I must disagree with that.
Never a dull moment, always something to deal with in an already full
day.
