As we wrap up Tech week 2025, we feel especially thankful! We were treated to new scrubs and indulged in delicious offerings from a fabulous waffle truck. Even some of the dogs joined in on the fun, bringing extra joy to our day. As we reflect on Technician Week 2025, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all Technicians out there. Your hard work and dedication truly make a difference. From running bloodwork to taking x-rays, comforting us during tough times, reading diagnostics, and interpreting medical records, you do so much behind the scenes. Thank you for everything you do!

As Tech Week comes to a close, we want to give a huge shoutout to our final three Technicians! 🎉

Introducing:

Jen, LVT, has been an incredible part of our Two By Two family for an amazing 25 years! Jen first joined us when our building was known as Hecht Veterinary and worked side by side with Dr. Shaffer. Starting as a Kennel Assistant, she showed remarkable dedication and worked hard to further her education, becoming a licensed Technician. What brings her the most joy? Helping with all your pets needs!

Jenny, LVT, has been an amazing part of our Two By Two Family for 12 years. She loves spending time outdoors with her dogs, whether it's engaging in scent work, hiking adventurous trails, camping under the stars, or even dock diving into the water. What brings her the most joy as a Technician is the opportunity to share her knowledge and experiences with all of you!

Katie, LVT, has been a wonderful part of our Two By Two Family for 9 years. She is a passionate horse lover who spends her spare time riding, showing, and training these magnificent animals. Nothing brings her more joy than being a Technician, where she has the incredible opportunity to help horses in need. She finds her favorite moments in aiding with lameness exams, bringing comfort back to your beloved horse.

Introducing Erin, LVT! Erin has been a cherished member of our Two By Two family for 13 fantastic years. She started her journey with us as a kennel assistant and worked diligently to finish her education and become a licensed veterinary technician. Today, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on not one, but TWO of our pawsome Technicians! 🌟 Their hard work and dedication truly deserve some extra love, and we can’t wait to celebrate them!

Introducing:

Brooke, LVT, has been a part of our Two By Two family for 6 years. She and her adorable dog, Poppy, are champion dock divers, making quite the dynamic duo in the water! Brooke is not only passionate about diving but also loves her role as a Technician. Her favorite part of the job is sharing her knowledge and experiences with all of you!

Cait, LVT, has been a part of our Two By Two family for 12 years. She embodies dedication and compassion in her work! She raises and shows cattle, and what sets her apart is her amazing ability to remain calm even in the most stressful situations. She pours her heart into animal care, ensuring that every pet is safe and well looked after. She treats each animal like they are a cherished member of her family, creating a happy and nurturing environment for them

What a fun day we had today! We lined danced in our best western gear as we made our way to grab some delicious pretzels from our favorite soft pretzel truck. There was so much laughter and joy, and believe it or not, even some animals decided to join in on the fun! The girls stayed hydrated with their new tumblers and enjoyed a refreshing Celsius to keep the energy up. What a blast!

Today we are honoring 3 more of our pawsome Technician team members.

These amazing Technicians are passionate about all animals, but have a special place in their hearts for large animals. While our ladies enjoy providing care for your small pets in the clinic, they truly thrive when working with large animals right on your farm. Whether it's routine check-ups or specialized care, they are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of your larger companions.

Introducing

Kimmy, VT, has been a part of our Two By Two Family for 4 years. Kimmy has a special love for horses and Australian shepherds. Her favorite part of being a Technician is assisting in surgery to provide a safe and successful procedure.

Leah M, LVT, has been a part of our Two By Two Family for 5 years. She is in charge of maintaining and keeping our diagnostic machines running in peak condition. Her favorite part of being a Technician is assisting the Doctors on emergency, when your pets need help the most.

Jessica, LVT, has been a part of our Two By Two family for 3 years. She has a deep love for horses and shows/judges in her free time. Her favorite part of being a Technician is monitoring anesthesia during surgical procedures. She will monitor heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen level during the procedure to ensure the patients safety and detect any complications.

We are incredibly thankful to have such amazing ladies on our Technician team, and we are proud to call them our family. Their hard work and dedication make all the difference, and we appreciate each one of them!

Today we celebrated our Veterinary Technician team by wearing crazy socks.

Our technicians were delighted to receive a wonderful assortment of delicious pastas and rolls for lunch from Team Leads Tonia and Vanessa. They also enjoyed baskets of their favorite snacks.

Kelly N, LVT, has been a part of our Two By Two family for seven fun filled years. Her positive attitude and joy for her job is quite contagious. She is both passionate and knowledgeable. We are truly blessed to have her as a member of our team.

Our Story

Our full-service hospital is equipped to provide ultrasound, digital x-ray, surgery, and process blood work in-house. We also offer grooming and boarding for dogs, cats, and exotics. Our doctors and technicians are “on call” for emergencies all year long, including holidays.

Dr. Shaffer dreamed of a clinic where just as the Ark in the Bible provided a refuge from the storm for all the animals, so would the clinic provide a refuge for people and their pets.

History Two by Two Animal Hospital (formerly Hecht Veterinary Hospital) was originally founded by Dr. Phil Hecht as a full-service small animal and ambulatory equine hospital in 1967. Dr. Hecht sold the practice to Dr. Shaffer in December 2009. The hospital was renamed after the story of Noah's Ark and the animals coming to the ark to be saved, two by two.

The hospital was remodeled and expanded in 2010 with the help of Busch Construction. We added a second building to house stalls for boarding/hospitalizing large animals, a grooming salon, and new space for boarding dogs. The main building got a total remodel, updated surgery suite, and isolation area. We are a Full Service Animal Hospital! We offer in hospital blood-work, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital x-rays, home euthanasia, boarding, grooming, equine/large animal treatment area, farm calls, and portable x-rays.
