June Bug and her Dad are already in the Howl-o-ween spirit! Just check out her bucking bronco costume! Regardless of your Halloween traditions, it is important to keep your pets safe! Here are a few helpful reminders/tips:
1. Keep your cat inside.
This is especially important on Halloween night. Unfortunately, not all Halloween activities are positive, and cats are especially associated with superstition. Don’t take any chances, keep kitty safe at home.
2. Keep candy and wrappers out of reach.
As tempting as it may be, do not share your Halloween treats with your furry companions. Some types of Halloween candy are particularly toxic to pets.
3. Decorate wisely.
Be mindful of dangling cords, watch for choking hazards and never leave candles or fog machines unattended.
4. Keep pets easily identifiable.
Should your pet slip out of the house, proper identification can help get them home safe and sound—and quickly too.
Double check that their collar and ID tag are all secure and up to date.
If your pet is microchipped, ensure that your contact information is correct in the microchip company’s database. If your pet isn’t already microchipped, talk to your vet about the simple procedure to provide future peace of mind.
Battletown Animal Clinic is hoping that you and your furry companions have a fun and fright-free Halloween!
