We made it safely to KY yesterday and Andrea Liguori Nuccio’s young stallion Finest Hour BC is happily settled in and has a great stretch around the Kentucky Horse Park. We are all excited to be here, and no matter the outcome, proud to have made it this far. Thank you to Shannon Lee Dueck for all your amazing instruction and making me the trainer I am today, to Janet Foy for helping polish us up before we head down center line, to Andrea for having faith in me, and to Angela Gell Stanaway for supporting this journey and always helping in every way imaginable ❤️ Let’s do this! 💪🏻

I had a wonderful weekend with the amazing Janet Foy hosting the last clinic at Melanie Pai’s gorgeous Bolinvar Farm. Janet was just fabulous and engaging, and her teaching skills and insight were top notch. Thank you so much Janet, and as I head to Nationals this week I will be much more confident with all the help you gave me ❤️

Guess who’s making his first trip to Lexington, KY for the 2024 US Dressage Finals??? Finest Hour BC owned by Andrea Liguori Nuccio is heading to the Blue Grass State to contest the highly competitive Open Training Level Championships against the nation’s top horses. Hotshot also had an auto invite due to his placing in the Regionals, but I opted not to declare him this year. He gave me his best effort to date this year at Regionals and we are going to save our money to train this winter with FEI goals next year. He owes me nothing and has had a few years off from the show ring due to my travels and training and I am just happy that we had a great year back in the show ring. It’s Finn’s turn to shine! ❤️💪🏻🏆🏅

Hotshot and Finest Hour BC competed this weekend at VADA/NOVA’s Licensed show with very solid tests despite not working this week due to me being down with Bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection. So incredibly proud of my “hot” Hotshot for being so well behaved despite not being worked this week, and Finn being a young stallion for working off the trailer and incredibly well behaved and relaxed. Hottie won his class, and Finn was 2nd with a 70+%. ❤️ I’m lucky that I can rely on my friends and the staff at Bolinvar for caring for my horses when I’m out of commission. Thank you Sarah Elizabeth who hacked and groomed Hottie for me, which was a BIG life saver, and HUGE thank you to my best friend and Finn’s breeder/owner Andrea Liguori Nuccio for being the best groom and my emotional support human.

Well it wasn’t the Olympics, but I am still very proud of Hottie for winning the Musical Freestyle Challenge at Michele Wellman’s awesome show at By Chance Farm. He loves to think he’s Glamourdale in his extensions, but unfortunate rider error messed up the changes…. 🫣 Overall though he is feeling just amazing, the balance is coming, and he is really becoming my partner and actually listening “most of the time” to me. This is our third show this year after a 3 year hiatus due to life, and I’m really starting to enjoy being back in the show ring. Thank you to my best friend and groom Andrea Liguori Nuccio and my husband Jeff McLearen who surprised me by showing up to cheer me on and help out and of course to Shannon Lee Dueck who is the best trainer and role model for me, and of course to Sabine Schut-Kery and Debbie Rodriguez for coming to clinic this year❤️

Beautiful morning for a horse show with my much more mature partner in crime 🤣❤️❤️ HUGE thank you to Andrea Liguori Nuccio for helping me, it truly makes showing much easier and relaxing with a friend supporting you. And of course to Shannon Lee Dueck for her patient and meticulous training all winter, to Sabine Schut-Kery for really giving us the homework to go the next step, and Debbie Rodriguez for teaching me to count my canter strides!!! I’m truly lucky to have such amazing instructors and mentors ❤️
