Forever Furry Friends Rescue formerly Rainbow Cove Rescue works hard to rescue the animals in need, be it lost, abandoned, neglected, abused, sick or injured and do not discriminate against age, size, breed, condition, as all animals get the same chance and we do not euthanize because they are with the rescue for a long time.
We will only take in animals when we have enough space for them with priority to stray/abandoned/impound/lost animals then surrenders will be taken in if we have the space to do so, which we place all animals with fosters until they find their forever homes. Animals will first be seen by the veterinarians and tested for communicable diseases and injuries starting them on any necessary treatments and if applicable be broughtacurrent of vaccinations and making sure they get their spay or neuters. If they need to be quarantined we will do so here in our office area and it will also make it more efficient to treat and observe as they are going through recovery. In case of momma animals, we will do what we can before placing them in foster homes to prevent fosters pets from getting sick of something is bothering the animal. The fosters will treat the animals as their own until a forever home is found and they are adopted out.
We will also be working on setting up a pet food and supply pantry to assist those with pets in need of a supplement so they don’t have to rehome their pets for short-term financial issues. Which the food and supplies are mostly provided by donations from the public and could come from larger donations from pet food and supply manufacturers and retailers.
We will also try to work in a trap neuter and release program as well as a pet wellness check up clinic if we can find Veterinarians to work with us on this for a special rate, We would like to start a fund for veterinarian care vouchers for vaccinations and or spay neuter program, and for emergency vet care for those whose animal may have gotten injured or got sick suddenly and the owners don’t have enough funds to see the vet, We cannot cover the whole bill but will see if we can set up some sort of emergency fund to at least the animal can be seen and start a form of treatment if needed to save the animal if it can be saved. After several close calls with our personal pets w, understand how hard this can be and stressful as well. We will also make available upon request lists of Veterinarians that can be contacted that will work with our programs.
