Today Houndy went round & round the flower garden, rested like a silly boy then zoomed round & round some more! 🌸 I planted many lovely perennials & he helped me w each one! 😻 Such a helpful boy he is & such a delight that his feral buddy Chocolate Sundae came to chillax w us after the work was done 🌟 Hound is guiding him in learning to trust ❤️

Today Houndypoo went to the vet to get a few things checked out 🚙 He refused his pre-medication to help him relax & I saw why when we arrived. He did great! 👏 He’s come so far! 🤸‍♂️ He was checked head to toe & had a repeat CBC after his labs in January were so concerning due to Anaplasmosis (caused by a tick bite 😬) but everything came back fine! 🥰 Not surprisingly, out he went to play w his feral buddy Chocolate Sundae upon arriving home! ❤️

Maplewood Barbecue will be bringing their smoker and selling lunch plates while supplies last and sweet concessions like cotton candy, whoopie pies, and fresh popcorn will be for sale. Live bluegrass music by Bruce Hobart, lawn games, and free face painting for kids of all ages.

Well, Houndypoo was a fine helper this blueberry picking season 🫐 Who knew cats could be so helpful this way?! 🙀 Houndy thinks he has lots to offer the world (haha, few would disagree) so is hoping to teach me, his mum, how to share his adventures on Instagram as well! As soon as I can round him up to teach me, it’ll happen! 📸

Update 6am 7/18: Hound (B&W) has returned unscathed, yeah! But no sign of Chocolate Sundae (solid black). He has a tiny L ear tip from TNR. Thank you! ❤️

Well, Houndypoo & his feral friend Chocolate Sundae have not returned home today, per their normal routine. If you see them ‘round the town somewhere, please let me know! Their usual stomping grounds are generally in the woods & fields behind our home leading toward Old Pine Hill Rd South. Both are neutered & microchipped to me, but no collar. Hound wants his people to know that his life is wonderful & he hopes yours is too! 🕺🏻 Out during the day to enjoy feral Chocolate Sundae’s company & in at night to rest in his soft bed ❤️ His life is rich filled with days full of frolicking, bug chasing, meeting local wildlife friends, helping me w gardening & burying those that have gone to the light 🌟 At night, he has learned to play w his siblings, learned what tv & music are & accepted a new fluffy bed bought just for him w hound-dogs on it! ❤️ Life is better w Hound! ✨

When Houndypoo showed up here nearly three yrs ago, our long term feral had already been here since 2017. Chocolate Sundae is all black, put thru TNR, then microchipped to me & released back on his territory. Never would he come near me nor make a sound.

Enter Hound. Much to my amazement, after some initial awkwardness, they became fast friends chasing each other & sleeping together. Fast forward to this past winter, Hound turned against Sundae, as if wanting all resources for himself.

Then last January, Hound became an ill & battered boy. I nursed him back to health & began allowing him back out for periods of time just recently. So, much to my delight, Sundae & Hound remembered each other! They are interested in each other & the only time I’ve ever heard Sundae make a peep is when he now talks to Hound. Such a delight to see! ❤️

Well, Hound hasn’t yet been Round the Town, but today he went round & round & round the yard! 🏎️ Only the rain slowed him down and, after growing tired of hanging out under a lawn chair, zoomed in when I opened the door for him ☔️ A warm bowl of canned trout soup was all it took for a nap to overtake him 🍲 Stay tuned for more adventures as Hound regains his stamina…❤️

Well, Mr Houndymoundy has thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors again! 🌸 His stamina has decreased since his illness 🙁 so after an hour or two he’s ready for an indoor nap & actually comes to the door (sometimes)! He loves to zoom, sniff & follow me around like a catdog! We love our boy!❤️

Today Houndypoo’s wish came true 🌟 After much discussion between Hound, my husband & I, we decided ultimately Houndy’s happiness was what mattered most ❤️ None of us ever know how long we will be here on this earth. Hound also has FIV, which could show itself by taking his life in any number of ways 🙁 Hound wanted to run & zoom outside, to sniff the grass & roll in the dirt 🌱 So today I joined him in reintroducing him to his outside home again ❤️ He was eager to explore & insisted upon sniffing every little thing. He soon tuckered out and, just like an overtired toddler, wasn’t pleased when I brought him in 🤺 But soon all of that was forgotten as he napped & napped & napped some more 💤 Each day holds new adventures for each of us, I hope you enjoyed your day as much as Hound! 😻

Well, of late I’ve been Round the House instead of Round the Town. Mum has studied animal communication, so a few days ago I flat out told her I wanted out again. See, I have the zoomies real bad & have been practicing during the night. She said yes, but I have yet to see that door k**b turn. I just want to zoom zoom zoom Round the Town again! 🏎️

What do you do on a snow day when life has dealt you many blows & you’ve spent more winters than you care to remember outside in the cold? Well, you sleep & then sleep some more 💤 Then, when your mum is trying to sleep, you curl up on her neck & clean her face & hair 😽 When done, you promptly fall fast asleep dreaming, only to make endearing squeaky noises waking both you & your mum up! Ah, the life of a happy boy. Wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️

Well, last night, he did it. 🙀
Last night Hound zoomed off the couch & lept up onto the bed…and has never looked back! 😻 Haha, so much for getting sleep at night! 🤪 Interestingly, he plastered his warm little body right where my physical therapist today said I’d benefit from a heating pad! Sounds like Hounds got me covered! 🌞

Such a joy it is to see Houndypoo choosing in his own time to join our family…sleeping on the couch, exploring the house, watching how his siblings live & play and, today, sleeping at the base of the bed where his mum has been recuperating from surgery ❤️ Such a bright light he is! 🌟
