This past week, I had the pleasure of attending the 20th annual International Hoofcare Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio.

There were so many amazing lectures, and many, many talented farriers in one spot - lots of opportunities to meet new people and learn new tips, tricks, and viewpoints in regards to our equine companions. I attended many talks - everything from heel pain in performance horses, to managing insulin resistant horses, to reading and positioning radiograph techniques, and many more! All were extremely insightful.

Aside from all of the incredible lectures and round table talks, I also explored the trade show - a place for many hoofcare related companies to advertise and market their products.

Lastly, I was able to catch up with my instructors from school, as well as other farrier friends I have not seen in a while.

I am extremely grateful for having the opportunity to attend, and look forward to improving my practice with what I’ve learned. It was a wonderful week, and I cannot wait for next year’s International Hoofcare Summit.
