This little snuggle puppy might not look like much to you but to your brand new puppy that you are bringing home it represents a whole lot of comfort.

Here’s what I suggest. If you are buying from a breeder then ship them a snuggle puppy to put in with all the puppies and mom. This will get their scent all over it and then when you pick up your puppy you also take home the snuggle puppy and that makes your puppies first week in his new home a bit easier.

I also suggest putting the heartbeat (in the snuggle puppy) on at night, mostly during those first few nights in the crate so your puppy feels like one of his siblings is in the crate with him. After a few nights he won’t need the heartbeat but the scent on that snuggle puppy will bring him great comfort.

And if you can’t send it to your breeder because its too late and puppy pick up is right around the corner, your puppy will still appreciate the snuggle puppy and the beating heart at night. Even without the scent of his littermates, it still brings great comfort and makes him feel less alone.

Hey kibble feeders!! This post is for you🙌

Is your dog itchy? Losing fur? Ear infections? I can almost guarantee its the food. But how can we fix this if you are not willing to feed a raw/fresh diet? Well, you do your best by adding nutritious things to your dogs bowl!!

If I could only add ONE thing to your dogs bowlful of kibble it would be salmon oil. Salmon oil is so good for their skin. Sometimes just by adding this one thing you can cut the itching in half! It’s also a great anti-inflammatory, so win-win!

Another very important thing to add to kibble is probiotics. Your dogs gut needs probiotics for digestive health. They also strengthen your dogs immunity because remember, health starts in the gut. Lets get their microbiome flourishing!

After those two ESSENTIAL things you can add some real food to their bowl! Just replacing 10% of your dogs kibble with real fresh food makes a huge impact on their longevity! Here are a few things that I always keep on hand! (I also add these things to my dogs bowls even though they are raw fed!)

Sardines in water
Canned pure pumpkin puree
Plain greek yogurt
Blueberries
Cooked broccoli
Cooked carrots
Cooked egg
80/20 ground beef, turkey, pork or chicken (raw or cooked)

There are SO MANY other foods to add as well but this is a great start for those of you that have never added anything to their kibble. Have fun with it! Even just grabbing one thing off this list each week will do wonders for your dogs health!!

**Don’t forget to always add water to your dogs kibble**

AND

**keep your dogs kibble in the freezer to kill the mites that are in the bag!!**

Is your Labrador AKC registered?

Is that the main thing you look for when you are searching for a “purebred Labrador”? It has to have “papers”, right?

I can’t tell you how many people have called me and said “hi, are your labs AKC registered?” And that’s it. That’s all they care about.

That piece of paper DOES tell you that it is, in fact, a purebred dog. Here is what it DOESN’T tell you.

It doesn’t tell you if its parents passed any health clearances. It doesn’t tell you if its parents passed their hip and elbow X-rays. It doesn’t tell you if its parents had temperaments that were worthy of being passed down to their puppies. It doesn’t tell you what kind of environment your puppy was raised in. And guess what? THOSE are the things that matter! That piece of paper means nothing if you can’t check all the boxes on everything I just mentioned.

Here is what you SHOULD be asking when looking for a purebred puppy. Ask to see the parents clearances (hip and elbow X-rays, annual eye test, echocardiogram, genetic health clearances). Ask what titles or training they have had. Ask where the puppies are raised. Ask what the puppies diet is when weaned from their mom. Ask about worming protocols. Ask about any vaccines the puppies have had. Ask what kind of outdoor time the puppies get. Ask if the puppies are crate trained. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MATTER.

You could arrive to pick up your puppy and it could have giardia, hip problems, and be super fearful. But yup, it’s an AKC papered puppy.

Do you see what’s really important now? It’s not the papers.

Barnaby would have loved to be ringing in NYE in a new home but unfortunately, no one came for him. WE REALLY NEED HELP GETTING OUR LONG TERM RESIDENTS ADOPTED! You can meet Barnaby Saturday 10am-2pm. Everyone on our team is OBSESSED with this velvet eared hunk & we know you will be, too. He is looking for an adult only home without other animals. Barnaby is a 2 year old, male, Bloodhound mixed breed. He requires a dog savvy family with experience with large dogs. Sadly, he spent his 2nd birthday in a cage and our hearts are breaking for him. He’s a VERY good boy that just needs to find the right people. He is up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered. Please consider opening your home to this very deserving dog! 🐶💙

7 weeks old today!! Time has FLOWN with these puppies 😭 We have a great routine so I think that helps tremendously. It goes something like this:

7AM - breakfast and playtime til 8:30 ish

10AM - playtime for an hour

1PM - lunch and playtime til 2:30

4 PM - playtime for 45 minutes or so

7 PM - Dinner and playtime

8 PM - Bedtime

There has been zero stress. Poops are great (breeders know how important this is). They are pottying outside sometimes. They are also pottying inside on the floor 😃 They weigh about 11 pounds (average), the smallest is just over 10 pounds and the largest is just over 12 pounds.

Here are my thoughts on their individual personalities 🙌

WEDNESDAY 💖- sassy, thoughtful (I think she’s going to be super smart), always in the middle of any action

CANDY 💛- super sweet, chill, cuddly

TREAT 🧡- Observer, then wants in on the action, adorable

SPOOKY 💜 - loves people, spitfire, fun, lots of energy

PUMPKIN 🤍- sweet, lovey, chill, independent

SALEM 💚- cuddly AF, sweetheart, stunner, I love him

CHUCKY ❤️ - busy, always looking for things to do, a little devil

GHOST 👻 - independent, sweet, loves Wednesday

One more week 💔

I had one in my house yesterday and I was showing the grandbaby and when I went to shake it the ball fell off the base and smashed onto my counter then went all over the floor where the dogs were. Of course we quickly got them out of the way so we could clean up but scary stuff.

Happy 10th Birthday Goose 🎂🎉🥳

This dog.

THIS DOG was our first dog as a couple. When Jim and I got together he had Dover and I had Sage. After we got married we decided to make it official 😁 and get a dog together.

THIS DOG was Jim’s first professionally trained “duck dog”. We brought him to a trainer when he was young and there he learned the basics of duck hunting and received his junior hunting title. Goose could have gone far with the right trainer but I’m not sure we chose the right one for Goose and he never went back after he was titled. Though he retrieved many ducks hunting with Jim.

THIS DOG was diagnosed with cancer after experiencing neurological issues at the age of 5. He had an MRI, and a spinal tap where they discovered inflammation of the brain caused by what they thought was brain cancer. We did almost a year of chemo and he was on high doses of prednisone until I put two and two together.

THIS DOG lead me to where I am today on my holistic journey. The day i called his neurologist to ask about giving him his monthly dose of Nexgard was the day I realized that this “preventative” chewable was a neurotoxin. I had no idea. Like many people I thought my vet would tell me if I was giving poison to my dog. I trusted them. I let them tell me what my dog needed. I let them decide what was best for my dog without doing any research of my own. Those days are gone. I understand now who is teaching these professionals. I understand that they are only doing what they were taught. I understand now that there are better ways, MUCH BETTER ways to care for my dogs.

THIS DOG is now raw fed, no vaccines, no flea and tick meds. He’s living his best life. He does not have cancer. He was being poisoned by Nexgard. I will tell his story for the rest of my life.

THIS DOG is my hero ❤️

CYBER MONDAY DEAL

If you have a dog then you should have both these products!

First up- is REBALANCER 🙌 This should be given a few days BEFORE you vaccinate your dog and up to a few days AFTER the vaccination.

Vaccines are very hard on dogs and many dogs are over vaccinated so they REALLY need some help to get rid of the toxins that come along with vaccines. You should not be without this product ❤️

Second up - LIVER TONIC 🙌 This should be given to your dog in the spring and in the fall. This will detox the liver which has been hard at work getting rid of all the toxins that have entered the body, whether these toxins come from the environment or their diet (kibble), ALL dogs should be given this for one month (fall and spring) each year. We need to keep the liver in tip top shape so it can filter out all of the toxins that our dogs deal with on a day to day basis.

Today only, FREE SHIPPING!

EARLY ACCESS TO BIG SAVINGS!!!

I found JOPE a few years ago and it has helped Goose tremendously. Goose started limping when he turned 5. He was on a different supplement for arthritis that had ingredients in it that were not benefiting him. I switched him to Jope because the ingredients were actually good for him! My first go around with Jope ended because I did not give it enough time to work. As with all natural supplements (versus medicine) it takes longer to work and see the benefits of it. So the next time that I tried it I told myself I was going to give it for at least three months, as suggested. And I never looked back. Goose does very well on these and I always suggest it to those that have older dogs that are hurting or starting to slow down. You also can give to any dog over age 1 to support joint health.

Anyway, lets get to the SAVINGS!!! Your very best deal will be to SUBSCRIBE & SAVE. The more you order the more you will save!! And on this very special BLACK FRIDAY DEAL, use code BLACKPOND16 when you sign up for the subscribe and save. That’s a $16 savings!

These puppies will be naturally reared.

What does that mean?

That means: raw fed, outdoor playtime, no vaccines and when they go to their new homes no flea and tick meds 🥰

It is my belief that the best diet for a dog is raw. Raw real food is so good for the gut. And we all know good health starts in the gut. These puppies will start off with raw goats milk and some raw meat at 3 weeks of age and eventually will have a full serving of a complete raw meal around 4 weeks old. Diversity is key so as they grow different meats and plants will be added to their diet.

How do I send puppies home when they have not been vaccinated?!! I am using nosodes! Nosodes are sugar coated beads that are placed on the gum line or inside the lip of your dog. The bead consists of the diluted disease you are trying to prevent. For instance, these puppies will be given distemper and parvo nosodes. They will get these once a week until they are 9 months of age. The point of nosodes is to expose the puppy to small amounts of the disease on a regular basis so it can create immunity against the disease naturally, without all the added fillers in a vaccine that cause inflammation and fill your dog with toxins.

**Unfortunately the Rabies vaccine is required by law so when that is given they will also be dosed with Lyssin to combat the ill effects of the vaccine.

These puppies will spend lots of time outdoors in the fresh air and sun ☀️ and as they grow they will go for walks and hikes, boat rides and kayaking. They will become new members of a family, forever loved and taken care of, naturally ❤️

Happy THREE weeks 🎂

I can’t believe the puppies are three weeks old already 🥹

This is a busy week for them. They will be introduced to raw food and will spend time out of the whelping box 🥰 and they will be meeting their aunts and Grammie 🥰 they will not meet Goose at this age because he does not enjoy puppy shenanigans but when they get bigger he will introduce “the growl” to them 🤣 he’s a great teacher because he won’t actually nip at them but he sounds like he would so they learn to back off when a dog gives a warning growl ☺️
