Photographed some wonderful dogs available for adoption over at The center for animal health and welfare yesterday! It was WAY too hot to do portraits outdoors- so we created a little studio inside one of the rooms at the rescue and stayed in the A.C. to keep all the puppies happy and comfortable!

🐾📸 A Sweet Rescue Pitbull Ready for Adoption at Peaceable Kingdom Inc.! 📸🐾

Every once in a while, you meet a furry friend who steals not just your heart, but also the lens of your camera. Meet Annie, a gentle soul with a wagging tail and a heart full of love, currently available for adoption through Peaceable Kingdom.

As a photographer passionate about animal welfare, I had the privilege of spending a day with some amazing people and animals at this rescue. I have a very soft spot for bully breed dogs- and Annie proved to be a gentle house hippo with the most soulful, kind eyes. While she is definitely in need of a little diet and workout program (me too girl, me too..Not judging) - She is ready for her next human partner to be her best friend and personal trainer ;)

Yesterday was a very difficult day for our family- We lost a very special little bulldog, Lucy. My dad & I surprised my mom with her for her birthday 11 years ago. She came into the family as an adorable little 9/10 week old puppy and was my moms very best friend ever since. Their home is a little quieter and somber this weekend, and it will be a hard adjustment not having her smiling, grunting little self around. She LOVED EVERYONE and was the sweetest little chonk. We will miss you girl!

Mom is a total sweetheart, perfectly petite and deserves a wonderful life and family after working hard as a mama-doggy. She will be available through Peaceable Kingdom Inc. in the near future.

About Jim & Alyssa

Horse & Hound Pet Photography was created and founded by Alyssa Harrington and Jim Cairns-Both internationally published photographers. Alyssa has 20+ years of knowledge in the equine world and an extensive background riding gymkhana horses, jumpers and dressage horses as well as years of experience handling youngsters and working as a stable hand for almost 8 years. Combined with the technical skill in lighting, composition and photography both her and Jim make a really good team.

Our inspiration to start a pet photography business together was our love for our own pets- we have quite a zoo. 1 horse, 2 dogs and 2 cats. We got our feet wet initially by volunteering at local animal rescues to help dogs, cats and horses find their forever homes with beautiful photographs. There is never a dull moment :) Feel free to reach out to us about booking a session. Pets have a special place in every family and we want to capture those awesome memories you cherish with them.
