The dogs we take in are fostered in the homes of our volunteers until they are adopted to approved applicants. HTHNBR is a non-profit organization as recognized by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
We've had this male Husky in our kennel for almost two weeks now. His new name is Kojo and the officers love him but we need to find him a home. He's very friendly and walks great on a leash. He is ready to be adopted! Please call 610.759.2200 if you are interested.
In another week foster Brewster will be with us for 8 months! His broken bones have healed and he is much more sociable than he was when he came to us. But, he still has a ways to go and is looking for the perfect home to continue his journey. We believe he likes females more than males. We know that he plays the bitey cheek game really hard. We know he loves to walk and run in the yard. Introductions to new pups will need to be slow, but we think he’s making progress there. And he absolutely loves to sleep with his human! Kaylee is a big, loveable, fluffy girl, around 3 years old and 65 lbs. She’s incredibly smart and loves carrying toys around with her and exploring new places and things. She’ll gladly go for a hike or a slow-paced sniff walk any time as she takes in new sights and smells.
Kaylee wants nothing more than to play with you or perhaps with another young, playful dog. With a slow introduction, she’s done well with the two senior dogs in our home, even though they aren’t as excited about playtime as Kaylee is. She is crate trained and house trained, spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Experience with huskies or other northern breeds would be ideal.
Kaylee is a special-needs dog: maybe because of her tough background as a stray, she experiences a lot of anxiety and must continue on her (inexpensive) daily anxiety medication. This medication has made a huge difference for Kaylee and allows her to relax and learn that situations she used to find stressful might not be so bad after all. However, she still displays some resource guarding behaviors and she requires a home without young children. Older (13 and up), dog-savvy kids might be ok, especially if they would be excited to learn about keeping up her training. Unfortunately, we have a baby at home and in consultation with an animal behaviorist, we have determined that we cannot provide the kind of home environment that Kaylee needs. We can provide a write-up and training plan from the animal behaviorist we have worked with at Cornell to get Kaylee started off on the right foot in her new home.

Id like to introduce Athena. She is a sweet, energetic little girl who is just beautiful with her big blue eyes.
She is a 1 and 1/2 year old Pomsky.
Tomorrow she will be going to the vet and will be ready for adoption in about 4 weeks.

Kirby is an 8th month old Pomsky (Pomerian/ Husky Mix) who currently weighs approximately 20-pounds and has a prominent underbite. He is an adorable, friendly/ sweet, intelligent, curious, and very playful puppy who absolutely loves to play with dogs of all shapes and sizes. He has remarkable stamina for his age. Kirby is fully house broken and crate trained. He has been working hard on his clicker training and knows many things well at this time including: Sitting/ waiting at external doors when prompted, down, up, wait, off, leave it, drop it, back up, here, touch, and go to bed. He has also been working hard on mastering leash walking the neighborhood and is getting better and better the more he practices.
Kirby loves attending Doggy Daycare at the Puppy Palace in Bethlehem PA three times a week. At daycare, he adores staff and loves playing in water and participates in structured “Brain Games” that include listening skills, food puzzles, tricks, and agility activities. Daycare staff report that he is a star student and may have a special talent for agility in the future.
Kirby is barely out of the puppy chewing stage and still mouths and chews on various things but responds to redirection and being given chew alternatives. Although he is working hard on not jumping up on people, this is a work in progress as he is usually excited to greet people and offers hugs. Due to Kirby’s developmental level with mouthing and jumping up, he would do well in a home with older children/ teenagers who understand boundaries. Kirby’s ideal household would have one or more high energy dogs that would love to play with him in a large fenced yard. He is a wonderful dog who is looking for a well-balanced and playful new pack to call his own.
Reya & Niko are still looking for a new home. While these 2 are not HTH pups, we will assist in the transfer of ownership. These two are very sweet and do not need to go as a pair, although that would be nice too. They are between 3 & 4 years old, neutered and spayed and are up to date on shots. This is Bella, a 4 yr old AKC registered female Samoyed.
Bella’s human mom passed away and the dad has dementia, she desperately needs to find a new home.
She is microchipped, spayed, up-to-date on shots (as far as I know), house trained, good with kids and other dogs. She's a sweet, gentle soul. She is overweight because her owner wasn't able to take her on walks anymore.

Brewster is still looking for his furever home, this sweet and sour Husky is quite vocal at times (think almost meal time), and loves to play with his foster sister. Almost 4 months after his car accident this boy is going full speed ahead. Brewster can be anxious around new people and new dogs, but we’re convinced that once he gets to know you, he will be a loyal and happy companion. Brewster is STILL looking for his forever home! This smallish (52.5lbs) boy has bonded well with his foster siblings and his foster dad. He has completely healed from his accident (hit by a car) nearly 3 months ago. In spite of losing his tail, he is a handsome boy. He would do well with a Husky savvy family and a playmate, or more! 9 weeks after he was hit by a car, and two months into foster care, Brewster continues his remarkable recovery and journey! Brewster is looking for a permanent home with an active, Husky savvy family, hopefully with a canine sibling or two to play with! Due to his injuries, Brewster lost his tail but that has not slowed him down. He is a sweet boy once he gets to know you and now enjoys sleeping with his foster dad plus whoever else can fit on the bed of his 4 foster siblings. 7 weeks ago tomorrow Brewster was hit by a car, breaking his pelvis and two vertebrae. That led to the loss of his tail. He has been on bed rest since, or as best a Husky can do. Now he is starting to get out and, as you can see, he is getting along just fine with the pack! He is a sweet, sweet boy who is going to make some family, and hopefully some canine siblings, a great companion! He still has a bit of puppy in him with the knucklehead things they do, but he is attending training and is getting better every day! Another milestone for Brewster today! This was Brewster‘s first pack walk, 5 1/2 weeks after being hit by a car. Due to being crated for most of that time, he has not had a lot of interaction with his foster siblings. Now he is out more and in close proximity but it hasn’t been perfect. This is how we work on that! We even had a snack break at the turnaround. That went well too! Brewster is approximately 2 years old and still has a lot of puppy energy (and habits). As he continues to heal we will lengthen his walks, and work on that puppy energy! Thanks to Anna & Hawkeye for volunteering to be the guinea pigs (or guinea Huskies) for this walk! 5 weeks ago Brewster was hit by a car. What we knew was that he had a broken pelvis. What we learned after we picked him up was that he had 2 fractured vertebrae. That ended up costing him his tail, which was amputated three weeks ago. He was neutered at the same time. His progress has been remarkable. While he has been confined to his crate a great deal, he would rather be out of the crate, either snoozing on the kitchen floor, or taking short walks nowadays. Brewster is your typical high energy husky with some puppy like habits that we are working on (mouthing). Brewster is scheduled to start training with Passion 4 Paws on Feb 5th. Other than that I find him to be sweet and ready to go. We are also working on his socialization with other dogs, but at the moment he might be better as an only child, but stay tuned, that could change!
