This week didn’t quite go as planned due to an unfortunately timed stomach virus, but I am always thankful for my clients, especially those who were kind, understanding, and willing to rearrange schedules a bit to help me make it through this week.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy some time with friends and family for the holidays. 💕🐾🦃

I have been seeing more and more reports of this new respiratory virus going around. It has now been deemed a nationwide virus rather than just regional outbreaks.
I do sanitize between pets, ventilate air outside and through a uv light in my HVAC system, plus the one on one nature of my salon makes it a safer option than other salons that have many pets visiting at once. However, this is an airborne germ and while I will do my best to provide a safe environment for your pets, I can’t guarantee a 100% germ free environment.
Please be aware of the symptoms and take your dog to a vet asap if you notice them. Please cancel your grooming appointment (and keep them away from other dogs) if your pet is unwell, especially with a respiratory illness or a cough that has not been diagnosed as non-contagious to help keep everyone safe.
If you have concerns about making certain your pet is the only one in my salon while they visit, please contact me. Most of the time, that is the case, but occasionally clients will drop off early or pick up late. I can spread the appointments a little further out and give notice sooner of when your pet will be ready to help ensure they won’t be in the salon with another pet.

While research is still underway, veterinarians are calling the unknown illness highly contagious, and in some cases fatal, and say most reported symptoms are similar to a typical kennel cough.

*Update: Square appears to be working again, but processing times may be slower than normal. Please be patient with online payments today.

Many of the online card processing programs are having issues at the moment. if Square is not back up tomorrow (and beyond), I will only be able to accept cash or check payments until it changes. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I have no control over this. Square has had a worldwide down status since this morning with some services going down this afternoon.
I also recommend being prepared to pay with cash or check at any small business you visit since so many rely on these services.

The number of outage reports looks like it is tapering down, but that is likely because there are fewer new people to report outages.

In case this turns out to be from a major hack, please watch your credit and bank accounts, between these services, almost everyone’s information could potentially be at risk.

Remember to keep your pets safely inside during the celebrations, fear can make them do the unexpected outdoors. Keep them protected from accidents or loss. An inside or basement room with the radio or TV running is a good way to limit those scary sounds.

I was given some sample boxes of dog treats by Joey's Famous Dog Treats (https://joeysfamousdogtreats.com)
to hand out to my clients.
These were made by a young, local entrepreneur who created them to be simple and healthy as opposed to the over processed options sold at many pet stores. They have a 5 ingredient recipe : Flour, Oats, Coconut Oil, Water, and whatever flavor makes up the treat.

While I have them available, I will be giving a box to each client at pick up, or if you would like to pick one up for your pup and you aren’t visiting soon, send me a text and I’ll let you know if there are any still available. They can also be ordered at the website above.

Proper socialization (especially when young) makes a huge difference in how well your dog will tolerate trips to the groomer, veterinarian, kennel, dog park and more. It can be the difference between a dog that gets over stressed (extreme excitement can also be a sign of stress) and a dog that truly enjoys visiting others and can tolerate even the things they don’t like with no trouble.
