UPDATE: the stray Shepherd mix found north of Hannover has not been claimed and her hold is up. We believe she is likely a Husky/German Shepherd mix, she's a petite thing aside from being pretty underweight. She is very playful now that she's feeling better, would estimate around a year old. She needs to be spayed and vaccinated then will be ready for a home. So far we know she likes other friendly dogs, and is good with cats.

These boys have been in the rescue since June. That is 6 months with ZERO applications 😢. They are such sweet fun-loving boys that deserve a home to call their own. They are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please share! Let's find these boys a home for the holidays!

Xena is still looking for her forever home! She was found near the Montana state line and has been at HOTR in the K9 program for roughly 9 months now. She appears to be roughly 5-6 years old. She is up to date with her shots and is spayed. The kids at HOTR are working on crate and place training, the treadmill, healing and loose leash walking, sit, and down. She appears nervous with new people and environments, as well as thunder and loud noises (working to get used to loud noises and she is improving) so takes a little time to warm up. Once she does, all she wants is attention! She is available for adoption.

A youth that has worked weekly with Xena and the K9 program would like everyone to know this:

“Xena likes lots of peanut butter. She gets lots of love. When first meeting Xena, if you're a male what I did was I got low to her level and I let her come to me. She warms up very quickly. She kinda has some problems with boundaries like she likes to sit on you. She is super cute. She loves to play fetch but is working on bringing the ball back. She really likes to go for walks. She knows how to sit, good at walking on a leash, place, how to use her crate, and she knows how to walk on the treadmill. She likes to eat fast so we use a slow feeder. When she drinks water she is trying to calm down. It takes her a bit longer to warm up to males. She also gets storm anxiety when there is thunder.”

Another youth stated that she relates to Xena because she feels Xena was "abandoned" like she was.

A third youth wanted to create a costume for Xena this Halloween. The youth was dressed up as "Deadpool" and dressed Xena up as "Dogpool". He made sure to use her weighted walking backpack as part of her costume (you can see some of the costume photos in the pictures attached).

Meet Beau 💙. This cutey came into rescue after he wandered up to a home sick and injured 😢. So tiny and such a rough start to life 😟. With some antibiotics and TLC he's doing fantastic! He's still a little shy but he tries to be brave around new people. He absolutely loves being with all the cats he is fostered with. He will be available for adoption after he gets all required vetting done. In the meantime, we are accepting applications for this sweet baby.

Anyone recognize this dog, showed up at a place north of Hannover last night, very skinny. It has been picked up and is very friendly. 5 day hold starts today.

UPDATE: PENDING PLACEMENT!

Oh Sophie, we are working so hard to find a wonderful indoor home for this beautiful young lady, and keep coming up empty. Her siblings both had so many great apps to choose from when they came in the rescue it was hard to pick between. Sophie came awhile later and just hasn't been able to catch a good break for anything. We desperately need placement for her as soon as possible because our fosters are full.

A bit about Sophie:
One year old Chocolate Lab mix
Spayed, Vaccinated, Chipped
Potty trained
Crate trained
Completed Board n Train program
Needs an active playful dog around her size or larger
Loves to go for walks or rides in the car

Sophie does fantastic with a playful companion and a fenced in yard (she is doggie door trained) where she can run and play to her hearts content and then come inside and be with her humans. She loves someone to snuggle at night, and doesn't mind sharing your pillow with you 😉
Most of Sophie's siblings have been turning out to be quite the little hunting dogs, which would be a fantastic outlet for her to learn if someone was willing to work with her.

This guy hanging around main street in Beulah and going into businesses seeking shelter has been picked up. He's been on his own for quite awhile but undoubtedly had a home at one time, he's incredibly sweet and NEEDS A FOSTER HOME. We are very, very full with cats and can not continue pulling them in without any extra help

It's TODAY!! ✨️🎉

Here's a glimpse of just some of the over 300 animals we were able to take in, assist with or provide spay and neuter vouchers for since this time last year, all because of the generosity and huge hearts of our followers, so many lives will forever be changed 💓💕💓

Please consider donating, fostering, volunteering or just simply sharing posts to help us continue to save more lives. Despite all the tireless work of rescues the overpopulation crisis is the highest its ever been and not slowing down anytime soon.

Happy GOTCHA day to Mavie and Patches!!! These girls both landed in such wonderful homes 💕 Mavie is a foster fail! She went from an unclaimed stray kitten to having her very own kiddos and dog pack she immediately loved the moment she entered their home, and they were just as smitten with her. Patches litter was born outside and live trapped several weeks ago and she tamed down instantly, her two siblings are still a work in progress, we appreciate homes willing to give the more shy and timid ones a chance, they deserve every bit of it!

Our hearts break for poor little Benny, he recently lost his single owner unexpectedly, and she was his whole world. He's had some big adjustments the last week, going from quiet apartment living to right in the middle of the usual daily rescue chaos, and he's handled everything and everyone exceptionally well. He very quickly became part of the foster dog pack and fits right in with all the friendly dogs and cats. Benny is 7 years old, neutered, house and kennel trained and really just kind of a couch potato! He loves treats, plays with toys some and really appreciates cozy soft blankets and pillows, that's usually where you'll find him burrowed, snoozing the day away. Please consider giving this incredibly sweet guy a loving home.

A puppy was found by a hunter yesterday in a field across from Leland Olds Station outside Stanton. If you are missing one contact the rescue to claim, must provide proof of ownership.

Very young, friendly and extremely hungry guy found at a remote home on hwy 31, his tail was either previously broken or froze off last winter. He is on a 5 day hold. Contact the rescue to claim, must provide proof of ownership.

This is what happens when pets get lost or abandoned. They are stressed, scared, and just want to go home. They dont understand what is happening. 😭
