This beautiful early season partial velvet went home today! This was my first time handling velvet and I’m grateful for the advice of other taxidermists on exactly how to make this look perfect. I’m a real sucker for the unique ones and I really enjoyed this process.

Finish work is my absolute favorite part of what I do! I’ve been working so hard on pushing myself to focus on the smallest details. In this craft, I’ll never stop learning and developing. I’ll always be chasing Gods hand, trying to put back together what He has so perfectly created. I’m thankful and blessed to be able to do something I love and am so passionate about.

The red fox, whose scientific name is Vulpes Vulpes which translates to “Simply Fox” was brought to the US in the mid 18th century by Europeans for hunting. They are beautiful little critters but will sn**ch up your chickens in a skinny minute! 🦊
