Shout out to the incredible Internal Medicine team at 🐺 who took amazing care of dear sweet Cooper over the past couple days as we continue to figure out what is causing him so many problems.

Also, another shout out to all of our supporters & donors who have helped us raise almost $500 so far to put towards this $1500 bill 💚 And a HUGE shout out to his foster mom
for taking such good care of this doll baby!

As of now, it has been determined that Cooper does NOT have a collapsed trachea 🙌 but rather some sort of infection in his bronchioles 😲🫁 So, they were able to perform a tracheal lavage & get a good sample to send off for testing. This means 🤞 in week or two they will be able to know what meds need to be given to fight off this infection so he can FINALLY get back to living life to bis fullest 😎

We'll keep everyone posted when we can finally get Cooper on meds and know what we're battling!

Don't forget that July 4th fireworks are coming and there are so many animals that are afraid of them.

If your pet needs their meds for the fireworks please call your vet now and don't wait for the last minute as some vet office hours will change with the holiday.

Please make sure your pets have their collars on with an ID tag along with your current contact information.
If your pet is microchipped, make sure your information has been updated.

What an amazing day today! Huge thanks to Petsense Leland for having us out for our final Best Friends Animal Society Adoption event for the month!! We had an incredible EIGHT adoptions today - 6 just at our event!! Stay tuned for our Sunday recap to see all the happy families put together this week! But we also want to give a huge thanks to all our volunteers, fosters, adopters, followers, donors & anyone else who has helped us along the way!! These are the days that remind us all why we work so hard for these animals 🥰

When your foster mom takes you for a car ride 😁 but fails to mention it's because you're going to see a special vet 😳😰 Cooper here needs your help!!! This guy has been waiting so patiently for this day, but now we need help covering his visit to NCSU Veterinary School. Today's consult, bloodwork, radiographs & fluoroscopy are estimated between $1000-$1500. This doesn't include if further diagnostics need to be ran......

Donations are down, adoptions drop in the summer months, now we truly need your support. Please help us make sure Cooper gets the treatment he needs & help us keep the doors open. Being the only rescue in Duplin Co is an expensive endeavor y'all, a lot of people don't understand what it is we're doing.

This is a transparent & vulnerable as it gets, but what choice do we have?? These animals NEED help, we've got to help them!!
