Breezy PALMS Farm is a shout out to my good friends in CT at Breezy PINES Farm where our two ponies and me and my daughter got a really great start as horse people. So, we hope to continue that tradition of a low key, friendly, helpful, positive environment where we can become better horse people, challenge ourselves to new heights, and have lots of fun.

Just wanted to take a minute and brag about how proud I am of all my riders today! Today was a sort of prep show where we dust off the showing cobwebs and move up and out of our comfort zones in to new classes. Morgan and Taylor showed in 18" verticals for the first time (both moved up from cross rails). Jenna moved in to 2' for the first time. Lauren's first show after breaking her collar bone in December and having a few pony issues and Jenn took Bizzi out for her first show and did two flat classes. Lots of nerves flying around today and few sketchy moments but overall it was a huge success. Everyone rode extremely well! Everyone was very prepared for that fun command class too! So pat yourselves on the back and take the rest of the day to gloat about your rides. We have Grand Oaks and MSC coming up in March. This season is just barely fired up.

Lots of tree work this week and irrigation going in to the Arena starting TH!! And the grass is coming in nicely now that the ponies don’t leave the pasture blocks—in time or distance!! Breezy Palms is ready for spring!!

MSC Points so far for the year end. Taylor Morris is currently first in X Rails. Lauren is currently first place in short stirrup and Jennifer Gilliland Carpenter is currently first and second in intermediate! Tim Lisa Puck (Jenna) is currently 4th place in x rail jumpers! Liam is second in lead line and Morgan is third in Walk Trot Pleasure! You must show at least twice in your division to earn a year end award.
Next show is Dec. 3! We are planning on 5 riders showing December 3. :) ~Donna

Couple of things I wanted to pass along. Our next show is August 19-20 (schooling on the 18th) at Longwood with MSC.
We have a different schedule of events for this show considering we will be bringing a few new horses and riders riding horses they do not normally show on for various reasons. For anyone fairly new to showing, I will be uploading a short document of hunt seat/jumpers/dressage show requirements along with examples of classes offered at shows. Feel free to message me (Donna) with any questions about show attire, etc. at any time.

September is a fairly empty month for shows so I would love for us to venture out and do the September 24 Hunter Pace at The Perry Plantation with Misty Morning Hounds. If anyone also wants to plan a camping trip, trail ride, any pleasurable way to get the horses out and about without the stress of competing, please let us know. Weekly trail rides would be a great way to get out and exercise the horses and we can play with the smaller xc jumps on the trails close by while out. No trailering required for these rides.

Days are growing shorter and hopefully the humidity is going as well. With school starting back up, ride times will be limited to afternoons or weekends. Be thinking about Halloween Costumes! Not only for you but for your horse! We hope to attend at least 2-3 Halloween events including costume contest classes at the shows in October and a Halloween Hunter Pace. If you need my help in sewing or designing, please reach out to me a.s.a.p. since it takes a while to make the costumes. ~posted by Donna :)

Yesterday was another FUN day--Pony Simon Says, tie dye shirts, pool noodle pony creation and jump off. Funny stuff!! And it was a hot one!!

So this is my ride on that course with Misty!! She was so chill today. We've been having a bit of a power struggle over her bit!! Tried a simple d snaffle and viola, no tug of war. We'll have to see how the next few rides go!! She's never had great brakes but she does this course very well!!
