She’s only five-years-old and has already been faced with so much. And now she has been diagnosed with high grade Mast Cell cancer. On both of her ears. Many of you may remember Willie. She was born with major bone and ligament deformities. In 2019 she was eight-weeks-old when we rescued her from the overflowing Barstow shelter where she was being trampled by larger dogs in the kennel. Foster mama - turned Forever mama met her when she arrived in Los Angeles and took her home to live with sister Puka and tortoise Larry. Willie has been through so many tests, procedures, surgeries and recoveries in her short life.
And now this. Her doc has determined that her best chance for survival is to amputate both of her ears. That should get rid of the cancer “with large margins”. Today Willie spent the day at taking so many tests. Full body X-rays, lymph node, liver and spleen aspirates, a cervical ultrasound, full blood panel. Just to see if the cancer has already metastasized anywhere. Still waiting on a couple of tests to come back but so far it’s just her ears.
When we rescued Willie we made a promise to her and to Christine that she would remain a Deity Dog for life. Our incredible, brave, stoic, resilient Angel needs us. Again. With urgency. Reaching out for even $5 towards Willie’s medical. We can’t fail our warrior girl now. Not after all she’s overcome.

I’ve also started a fundraiser in Willie’s honor.
Putting her estimates in our stories with so much more.
If I’m being honest, I’m crumbling inside. Crumbling for Willie. She doesn’t deserve this. She doesn’t deserve any more surgeries. She is the purest, sweetest of hearts. And her ears are everything on this world that is right. But I’m also in pieces for Christine. Last year losing Puka. An absolutely incomprehensible loss. And now this. Asking the Universe in the most specific of asks to please allow Willie to live out her life to its fullest. It needs to be.
We know Christine is asking Puka to take care of her little sister. And so are we.✨
Go Wille. Go.
And Christine, thank you. To ♾️🩷
