Born and raised in Italy, Mauro Spina worked for some of the top salons in London, Paris and Milan before launching his own brand in Beverly Hills, in 1989. Style and quality are essential parts of his life and culture. When settling in Los Angeles, Mauro was not impressed by the use of harsh chemicals in beauty products and the lack of choice in healthy alternatives. He saw how much damage TV and movie stars’ hair had to endure on a daily basis and how the products available at the time were not only inefficient but even more damaging! Going back to his Italian roots and his grandmother’s homemade remedies, Mauro studied aromatherapy, herbology and trichology and produced his custom-made shampoos and treatments based on essential natural oils and without any harsh chemicals. As an animal lover and environmentally conscientious, he never tested his products on animals and all components are biologically harmless. When Mauro noticed his own dogs started to develop sensitivity and allergic reactions to the products used by the groomers, he once again went back to the drawing board and created Spina Organics. Spina Organic grooming products are specifically ph-balanced and designed for dogs’ skin needs and sensitivity, with all natural oils and once again, no harsh chemicals. With over 40 years of experience, Mauro was a pioneer and continues to be a trusted household name.
