We had a call yesterday that this kitty walked in the front door of a Beverly assisted care building. We scanned kitty and found an identification chip. We tracked down the owner and she is home today! She was about 1.5 miles from home. Welcome home Ginger!

We have taken in several kitties who have been out all summer including this unneutered boy. He does not have a microchip, was wandering the neighborhood and sleeping on a ladies porch every night. It must be the cold weather that people are calling for these kitties now.
We also have several adoptions in the works. We had an adoption tonight of a fun young boy, Chester. Think good thoughts for Chester and for this big boy we will name Romeo, because we love him!

Mr. Tux came back to us as he was having a hard time with excessive vomiting. We took him for a blood test today and stool sample to make sure there are no bugs bothering his belly. The vet scheduled him for an ultrasound next Friday. Tux has someone who wants to adopt him if we can resolve his tummy issues.

Thursday update: Sherby is a great sport and a good boy. The vet changed his foot dressing this morning and said the wound is healing nicely. If you would like to adopt this friendly, loving, purring boy when he is healed, contact us at 978-969-2389.

Sherby is home from his surgery to remove his tumor from his foot. He is so hungry and thirsty. It made it easy to get his pain pill into his tummy.

He will need his bandages changed every other day by the vet. He does have to wear a cone to prevent chewing at his wound. We let him eat his dinner first.

We raised $585 towards his $2,000 bill. You can contribute using this link. Thank you!!!

Update: we are told Cruella did really well at her appointment and even greeted her owner later at The door! Yay Cruella.

Cruella is off to the vet this morning. She hasn’t been, since she hides when it’s vet time, even for the at-home-vet. For the record, she is a sweet girl. She was a rescue through the Salem, MA shelter as a rescue from hurricane Ian. Be well kitty.

Update: Sherby is off to the vet for his Tuesday surgery. Think good thoughts for Sherby.

We picked up Sherby today. We took him to the veterinarian today for an exam and he received his shots. He is in a warm, safe bedroom tonight, instead of the streets.
Sherby has a large tumor on his foot (picture in the comments). The tumor will be removed and receive a biopsy on Tuesday. This is what the vet advised, since Sherby is young and friendly and otherwise healthy. The tumor covers 40% of his foot pad, so he will need frequent dressing changes to allow it to heal. Wish us all luck. The initial care is estimated to be $2,000 including todays visit, the tumor surgery, the biopsy, the follow up vet visits, medical supplies, such as bandages and medications.
Thank you for caring.

Tommy was adopted!

His forever owners say this about him: "Tommy is doing great! He settled right in. Within the first 15 minutes of getting home, he ate, went to the bathroom in his litter box and smothered us with hugs and kisses. He is the sweetest cat I’ve ever seen! He loves getting petted and giving us lots of head bumps and purrs. We are so in love with him! "

Monte is doing super well after 1-2 years on the streets. He is no longer hiding under the sofa, and is using the cat bed. If we approach him slowly, he loves to be petted and purrs for us. He will make a great house kitty for a quiet home. Turning into a lap cat right before our eyes. He loves to purr and play. If you are interested in Monte, contact Jill at 978-969-2389 or [email protected]

Update: Gwen is living the dream. One of our followers went to the Gloucester shelter to adopt Gwen, after we took her there. Gwen was trapped eating behind a heavily wooded house lot with her mom ( who also was recently adopted!). They were both fearful when they were trapped, but Gwen is doing great. No cold winter outside for Gwen this year!

Everyone meet Monte. He and his friends went to the vet for their medical today. They had their ears cleaned, their fleas treated, received their shots. But we found out that poor Monte is FIV positive, no worries. He is a very handsome boy and will make a good pet for someone (contact us if you are interested in adopting Monte!). First we have to pay his medical bills ( $500+ for the three boys). If you would like to contribute please use this link or mail a check to PO Box 3378, Beverly, MA. Thank you!

We received one $200 donation for these medical bills so far.

Winnie has been adopted! This fearful girl is in good hands. While dropping her off this morning, we had a chance to see Jaxson, a blind 15 year old, who we assisted with his adoption this year. Jaxson is doing great, and we look forward to hearing updates on both of them.
