One of FOBA’s volunteers and his family helped to transport a generous donation of dog items from Beverly’s Petco Unleashed’s store manager Francesca Ernst to the Salem NH Animal Rescue League, where they were much appreciated and will be put to good use.
We hope you will join us in celebrating the holiday spirit on behalf of all the animals and this inspirational story of giving, be that time or material. Thank you to all our donors and volunteers. We would not be able to help local animals without you.
Happy holidays to all!

We have been fortunate to find homes for some hard-to-place cats. While we were busy with them, we took these awesome, friendly cats to Cape Ann Animal Aide in Gloucester, and **they are still there awaiting their forever homes!** Daisy is a chill lap cat. Romeo is a total love, and Juliet is a beautiful sweet girl. Call them first thing to set up a meeting with one of these great pets.

It is Rusty's first night out of the cold (16 degrees last night!) He has blood on his ear, might be a tumor ( picture in comments). He has been coming in and out of a Lynn apartment building basement for months. He seems relaxed considering his events. Rusty will meet the vet in the morning, and hopefully we will find him a warm loving home.

Donate to Rusty's medical treatment here.

We took in this fearful boy tonight. He had been a regular diner at a home. His friend didn’t survive street life, so we took him in. We will have him checked out at the vet tomorrow. And will scan him for a chip if he calms down. He is hissing and growling, the usual. We might name him Prince Charming as we help him through this transition.

Everyone wish Kelly a happy birthday. She had to give up her dogs so we brought Clyde by today for a birthday visit. He tried to eat the birthday cake. Kelly adopted one of our homeless cats. We help with the shots and nail trims. Happy birthday Kelly!

Selma (gray face) lost 1.5 pounds over the weekend. She had some discharge. The vet is doing an emergency spay on her in case of pyometra. Unfortunately, when she was ex-rayed, they found a 10cm hernia (see exray in comments), which they are working to correct right now.
Her sister, Patti, will go for her medical visit next Thursday. They both have received their shots. These two sisters will be available for adoption in a couple of weeks.

Update: kitty has gone home. They promise to keep her in for at least a couple of weeks. The neighbors will continue to keep an eye out for We**ie. The owner was able to pet her briefly before she started hissing, striking and biting. They were still glad to see her and using a towel, their friend did get her into a carrier. We sent them home with a couple of play toys. Good luck We**ie and her family. ❤

We texted with the owner and are going to meet up.
We had We**ie(Seoul) spayed today, and she received her shots. She is free of feline illnesses such as fiv/felv.If the owner still lives locally, we are not looking for money, just a warm, safe home for We**ie, please contact us. We were unable to connect in January. This two year old girl is striking and currently is not happy about us.
Update: We have someone who is going to socialize her to see if she can be adopted into a home. She has been on the street a while, judging by her behavior.

Update: We received $520 for giving Tuesday donations for the homeless animals, Thank you so much.

Thank you for all your support this year! Monte and Smokey went to their forever home this weekend. Local Animals need help from the calls we receive daily. We give them a warm place to be, food, medical care. We counsel people on the phones, cut cats nails for people in housing, walk dogs whose owners cannot get them outside. We lend traps to families with lost kitties, We are all volunteers and love to help people and animals. We love and appreciate our supporters.

Please consider the homeless and needy animals in your year end donations. Thank you, you guys are the best!!

Update: these beautiful girls love to be petted and purr a lot but are scared. They don’t put up any fight, they just bury their heads. If you are interested in adopting these overweight sisters, please give Jill a call, 978-969-2389 or [email protected].

Selma and Patti have arrived! They were left in their apartment. They are the biggest girls we have had. They seem like they will be friendly once things calm down.
