Have you seen Nova?
8/30/23 Amazing news out of Beverly on this magical blue moon night!! Nova who has been missing since 8/24 from JC Phillips Nature Preserve is safely home!
This case was a nail biter from the start due to the fact that Nova was dragging a leash in a densely wooded area. With only a couple of sighting last Friday, we had no new leads. Flyers were hung, trails were hiked, cameras & feeding stations were set and drones were flown but still no sign of Nova. Last night we received reports of barking coming from a wooded area that was surrounded by wetlands. MDM volunteers, Nova's dad and friends immediately headed to the area with great concern that she was possibly hung up somewhere due to her leash. Into the woods and marsh they went but no sign of Nova and no more barking. After hours of investigation they had to call it a night.
Today was the day, we received multiple reports of her being seen crossing busy Route 97 adjacent to the reserve and heading into marsh land. Team Nova again headed out to the area this time with more cameras and a trap. While in the process of setting up the trap, Nova was sighted in the brush of the marsh land. With great caution, volunteers, mom and dad quietly went to listen and see if they could spot her and they did she so it was decided that Brian, a family friend would head in. Minutes which seemed like hours passed and then we heard him shout I have her, the words we were all waiting for!! After many happy tears and hugs from mom and dad off to the vet she went. Nova checked out great, and is home sleeping comfortably in her bed.

We are beyond happy for Nova and family and know everyone will get a good nights sleep tonight! Welcome home pretty girl!

Nova is 11 mos / 35 lbs and is Black, Gray & White in color.
