Pause 4 Paws is a small but mighty all-volunteer organization. Since her retirement, our founder has focused her time, energy, and savings on reducing the number of unwanted pets in Big Bear Valley, CA. She has negotiated a special arrangement for a veterinarian and her staff to visit our remote mountain community 1-2 times each month to provide residents with affordable basic vet care, such as sp

ay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations. In addition, Pause 4 Paws covers 100% of the cost of sterilizing stray or feral cats in the valley.

Apologies this is last minute, but the clinic was moved to today due to vehicle issues. Vaccine clinic is open to walk-ins today (June 5) until 1pm. We’ve added the Rattlesnake vax for $25 too! 🐍

Yesterday the sheriff locked a woman out of her Fawnskin rental when it was discovered she had 67 DOGS LIVING INSIDE A SMALL HOUSE in deplorable conditions. She had represented herself as a dog rescue.

Just a reminder that other than Mountains' Humane Society Pet Rescue and Grateful Heart Animal Sanctuary there are no other legit 501c3 animal rescues on the mountain. Pause 4 Paws Big Bear is a 501c3 but does not take in or adopt out animals. Please do not give your mountain animals away to anyone else claiming to be a rescue. And if you need to re-home a pet DO A HOME CHECK! 😥

💯 Most of the time the fee that the rescue organization charges is a bargain since you will get all the initial shots and kitty will be fixed- meaning you have nothing to worry about other than enjoying your new family member!

San Bernardino County Animal Care, in collaboration with The PAW Mission and San Bernardino County Regional Parks, is offering a free spay and neuter clinic to residents of unincorporated areas. The first event will take place at Yucaipa Regional Park on May 27 by appointment. 🐶 🐱

To be eligible for this program, participants must show proof of residence in an unincorporated area. Residents can verify their eligibility by visiting the service area map: https://bit.ly/3QOiunr

Wonderful news from the county! Starting tomorrow they are giving away vouchers worth even more money to get your pets fixed. At our mobile clinics we offer very affordable rates to sterilize AND accept these vouchers. For cats and smaller dogs, these vouchers would potentially cover 100% of the costs, meaning it’s FREE for you. At yesterday’s mobile clinic…this Tom cat trapped in BBC was given the best gift ever: he was neutered! Not only will he not be able to make more babies, but he will be safer- not needing to cross busy Big Bear Blvd every day roaming for mates. ✂️🐈
