Well, where do I start. The last several months, past week, and couple days have been a roller coaster. Today, we payed tribute and laid to rest one of the greatest men that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. But what is even better, I also have had the pleasure of calling him my father. I am not just saying this because he was my dad but because I knew him and watched his life first hand, he was a great person and an amazing Child of God. He was one of the most unique and spiritual men I have ever known. Thank you Dad for being an ensample, a pattern, showing us just how spiritual we can be. You will be missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. You have made an ever lasting impression on my life and all those that have had the opportunity to know you and we are all better because we knew Brother Tommy Smith. From the depths of my heart and my family, we would like to thank our extended family, church-family, friends, and co-workers for the love you have shown to my father and our family through the visits, singing, calls, texts, cards, food, flowers, gifts, but most importantly the prayers and love.

She is crate trained, kennel trained, loves attention , loves to retrieve, lots of point, high bird drive. She’ll require a home with tons of activity. She’s wired up and always ready to go. Happy Anniversay to this dream of a woman that became a reality for me 15 years ago today! The keeper of the stars had a sense of humor when he put the two of us together. To say I am thankful for her and this life would be an understatement. We can’t say it’s been all easy and downhill because we have had our share of bumps and valleys but we made it together. She supports me, these boys and our crazy dreams. It’s been an amazing life, forever here we come. Love her more everyday!

Today we laid to rest my Uncle Jack as I called him but he was way more than that to me. He was my hero, teacher, spiritual leader, and Father in the Lord. He is one that called my name, sewed the seed, watered, and helped me to grow into what I am today. I have spent countless hours with him over the years and what great memories.

Earlier this week, I woke up thinking about his pain and suffering and our lack of understanding, but all along our Savior just knew what he was doing. I thought about Jesus and what he went through so we would have eternal life. Then, I thought about my preacher. While his life wasn’t hanging on a cross for our sins, he also gave his life to the Lord to ensure we knew the way, what it would take and for us to stay where we know we can have eternal life. He was truly a living example for us to follow and oh, what an example. He often talked to me about asking for the old path. He is the old path for us to walk therein. I love him and can’t forget him - my spirit won’t let me.
