Dear Bug,

Oh, Bug… where do we even start? From the moment you wobbled in with those giant bug eyes—eyes that saw straight into our souls and also, somehow, deep into the next dimension—we knew you were going to be unforgettable. And we were right.

You weren’t just a sweetheart… you were a full-on love bug. The kind who believed personal space was a myth and that every lap, shoulder, or unsuspecting chest was simply a specially designed Bug-shaped throne.

And then there was the howl. That iconic, dramatic, operatic, one-of-a-kind Bug serenade. Honestly, we’re still not convinced you weren’t part wolf, part gremlin, part Broadway performer. You didn’t just bark—you belted out full emotional monologues. And we laughed every single time.

You made such a huge impact here and brought so much unexpected comedic relief. Life was brighter (and definitely louder) with you around.

We hope you’re loving your new family, Bug. We hope they appreciate your big heart, your bigger eyes, and your absolutely ridiculous howl as much as we did. You deserve all the love, all the snacks, and all the soft couches your little gremlin body can handle.

For months, this sweet boy fought through extensive care and a long recovery, including a full cherry-eye surgery that would’ve discouraged a lot of dogs. But not him. With patience, love, and time, he slowly came out of his shell—trading fear for trust, and pain for confidence. And now? He’s blossomed into the most handsome, bright-eyed boy you’ve ever seen, a true testament to resilience and the power of second chances.

Just a quick reminder……. Take a moment to assess your pets' cold-related risks. It could save their life!!

As temperatures drop, it’s important to remember that our pets feel the cold just like we do—and some breeds are at higher risk than others. Small dogs and short-coated pups can start feeling uncomfortable even in the 40s, while moderate and extreme cold can be dangerous for any breed without proper protection. Keep a close eye on your pet’s behavior, limit outdoor time as temps fall, and always prioritize warmth and safety. A few extra precautions can make all the difference in keeping your furry friend healthy and comfortable this winter. 🐾 💕

“6/7: Because Normal People Stop at 2… We Don’t”

The Real Origin Story

The legend began the day one of our volunteers—who we’ll call Jessica to protect her identity (and her marriage)—walked in holding a new rescue pup like it was a Black Friday doorbuster.

Someone asked, “Jess… don’t you already have two dogs?”
She nodded proudly and said,
“Yes. And?”

That was the moment we realized we were not dealing with an ordinary human… but a seasoned member of the Dog Collector Olympics.

When pressed further, she said,
“Look, normal people stop at 2. I’m not normal. I’m at 6/7.”

We didn’t know what 6/7 meant, but she said it with such confidence that we all pretended to understand. Later we figured out it translates to:
✨ I have six dogs, and I’m absolutely open to a seventh. ✨

And honestly? Mood.

Because around here:
• We say “I’m just fostering” the way teenagers say “I’ll be home by 10.”
• We’ve used the phrase “He followed me home” for dogs found three counties over.
• And we all have at least one dog whose adoption story starts with “Listen… don’t judge me.”

So we made a shirt to honor the beautiful chaos:
“6/7: Because Normal People Stop at 2… We Don’t.”

It’s not just a fundraiser tee.
It’s a confession.
A lifestyle.
A support group in cotton form.

And yes—proceeds go straight to rescuing the next dog that “accidentally” ends up in someone’s passenger seat. 🐶💛
