Damascus was one of the many Southwest Virginia small towns that was affected by Hurricane Helene. The town is experiencing one of the most devastating floods in decades and is in desperate need of assistance.
Far Fetched PetQuarters will be collecting donations now through Saturday, October 5th from 9:00AM - 5:00PM to deliver to Damascus and those in need. We are coordinating with our customers and family members, Maria and Michael McBride, and their church members at First Baptist Church of Damascus to get the supplies directly to those in need in their community who cannot make it out to central drop off locations to pick items up themselves. Many have blocked roads and failed bridges, making it impossible to leave their homes.
Some ideas of donation types include:
⢠dog and cat food
⢠leashes and collars
⢠blankets
⢠bottled water
⢠cleaning supplies
⢠rubber boots and socks
⢠paper towels
⢠diapers and wipes
⢠first aid supplies
⢠buckets, shovels, crowbars and rakes
⢠wheelbarrows
⢠dehumidifiers and fans
⢠N95/KN95 face masks
⢠batteries, charged power bricks and power cords
⢠new bedding and bath towels
