Get some eared they said....it'll be fun they said...who keeps telling these lies?? It's like a switched has flipped in these guys. From cuddly and cute to attack mode in a matter of days! After what I hope is our last round of snow (6inches over the weekend) I finally got around to hanging treat feeders and refilling all the nest boxes. Some were happy about the new additions while others were not but they sure were happy about the treat mix i gave them. Cucumber,carrots,apples,green pepper and lettuce. As most of you know im usually the last to join the party since im so far north but eggs are starting to hit the ground slowly but surely. Trying to get projects done while i still can. In about a month I'll be up to my ears in eggs and babies all at once. Happy hatching everyone!

Well the madness continues. 300 coturnix eggs going in. Celadons and Regulars all of the jumbo variety. Babies 🐤🐤 are hatching! 20 or so barnyard mix chicks as well as about 3 dozen coturnix. Also picked up this unit from a good friend to hopefully now have enough incubator space for all my planned hatches as well as all my own birds laying eggs. PM ME if youd like some chicks!!

***Hatching update for everyone****
More Buff Brahma,Partridge Wyandotte and americanas going in! I'm not taking a list. FCFS when they hatch. Will post an update in 21 days! Also have about 2 dozen BYM eggs set to hatch in the next few days will post and update with how many hatch from that batch! Then more eggs to come the following week of the following breeds

This is for all my dog trainer friends and followers I have a large batch of northern bobwhites set to hatch 4/7. Will let go as chicks or will contract to grow until agreed upon age. Located in the Grand Rapids MN area but can meet in the surrounding areas. Also make several trips to Wisconsin during the summer time shoot me a PM if you'd like to get on the list or have me raise some to adulthood for you!

Busy week it's been so far. Between sick kids,birds starting to lay and overzealous males I've certainly had my hands full. I've still managed to take on more projects in the process 😂 Got my artwork wall started. Threw together some scrap wood to make a shelduck nesting box. Picked up a new shed for some roller pigeons. Got my 1000 bobwhite eggs ready to go in the incubator. Picked up more kitty litter buckets and dog kennel panels. Got almost all the wire done on the flight pen. First egg came today from the ringnecks! Did quite a bit of penscaping or you could call it HENsaving this time of year since all the males are READY and the females still aren't exactly impressed nor interested. Been a successful week so far. Hopefully the rest of the week is more of the same! Ive got a few things up my sleeve for the rest of the week and next week we shall see what happens next!

My newest project. Hmmm what to put in it? A group of homing pigeons? Roller pigeons? A different breed of fancy pigeon? Or break out my small group of polish?? Decisions Decisions...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

*PSA TO ANYONE WANTING TO RAISE BIRDS*
Just remember when you get into this hobby that it's all sunshine and rainbows until you've gotta refill the medicine cabinet and order the special breeding mix consisting of pigeon grain/dog food/horse food per a fellow breeders recommendation. Diet and health is key! This is what i was taught this from the beginning! No matter who you are you'll end up with a sick bird here or there no need to panic better to just be prepared!

We can't always be irresponsible and just blow all our money on the birds themselves sometimes we have to blow it on feeders and waterers for the birds instead...don't be alarmed folks I'm not changing my ways... i did still come home with some birds 😂😂 plus just a few pictures of this weeks projects

Andddddd they just keep coming. 2 dozen breese eggs and 2 dozen breese roo/isa brown hens eggs. Plus 4 dozen more quail eggs! We are off to the races here folks.

Well well well...would you look what I found. Your eyes aren't deceiving you the real deal WHITE RINGNECKS. Not alaskan snows. After quite a bit of research and messages back and fourth with fellow breeders i can happily say that there is now a small population back in private aviculture hands with me and a select few other aviculturists having the pleasure of hopefully reintroducing something we all thought was lost! Thank you to a local game farm owner for assisting in the acquisition of these birds! These birds will not just be going anywhere at the beginning. If you raise or think you raise white ringnecks please message me trying to gather as many different bloodlines as possible to hopefully be able to reintroduce these and make them common in aviculture again. And to answer your questions no i am not going to be offering eggs. Potentially pairs come fall depending on how the season goes.

Did a little bit of penscaping for the eared and I think this spring weather has more than just me happy! Every male on the property out strutting his stuff for his ladies. I was lucky enough to even catch a partially impeyan display he was backwards but still cool nonetheless! 🥚Eggs 🥚 any day now on some species!
