River Rock Rabbitry, formerly S&S Dutch Rabbitry, has been breeding high quality, pure bred Dutch and Belgian Hare rabbits since early 2009. After Samantha purchased her first black Dutch rabbit for a 4H project in Contra Costa County, she fell in love with the Dutch breed and things quickly grew from there. It was soon after that a second buck was added, and then two does from Dr. Scott Williamson before fair even started that summer. After many breeds coming and going from the rabbitry, including Holland Lops, Tans, Mini Lops, Harelquins, and many others, things settled down in to Black, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac and Steel Dutch. We have been developing a strong Lilac Dutch line for about five years now and have been extremely successful with removing the silver ticking while retaining a superior body and color. The Hares came a bit later and have been in the rabbitry as a small side project for six years. The Netherlands are new, but are superior quality from Jeremy Collins and Cole Simons. Savana actively breeds Havanas in all varieties, and Mini Rex in Black, Blue, Broken, Chocolate, Lilac, and Tortoise, mostly KT and Piper Smith lines. River Rock Rabbitry breeds for body type that is short, compact, and cobby with special attention given to a round form that fills all the way to the table. We take pride in the quality of our animals and only sell what we would show our self, many of the sale rabbits have been shown already. Our prices reflect the quality of the rabbits offered for sale.
We also offer Chinchillas, Rats, and Mice on occasion.
