We are wishing everyone a happy thanksgiving from Thompson’s Taxidermy. We hope you all enjoy the time with your family and the amazing food provided for you. Finished up this 8pt this evening. If you notice the patchy cape and the hair curled in some spots that’s called slipping. Slipping can occur by letting the hide out and or not getting it frozen, tanning oils not penetrating the hide as intended, or multiple other reasons. I talked to the customer about their cape and offered a replacement but they denied. This is why you hear taxidermist constantly reminding you to get them the hide as soon as possible. Other than the cape this buck turned out beautiful and thank you for your business!
