✨Bennett ✨

This boy is doing amazing 🤩

We practiced "sit" and "down" for about 3 minutes before I took this video. He takes treats very gently and is SO motivated to please.

We are working on recall next and fetch as he has shown he's a natural retriever.

I am so excited for his forever family. He's going to be such a great companion. If you are interested please reach out to Freckles and Tomcat Rescue directly.

✨Meet Bennett✨

Bennett is my current foster from Freckles and Tomcat Rescue . To say he will be a wonderful family dog is a bit of an understatement. He is so gentle with the kids (ages 2 & 4) and he is very respectful with my older dog.

Our thoughts are with the victims of hurricane Helene and those still in the battle of Hurricane Milton.

The Humane Society of the United States is working around the clock to assist and rescue displaced pets from these disasters.

They are providing updates here:

Oct. 9, 2024 | Our Animal Rescue Team remains on the ground in North Carolina and Tennessee for continued Hurricane Helene recovery efforts. The need in these devastated areas is overwhelming after unprecedented inland damage.

Let's talk about bully breeds:
I was once again reminded that some old stigmas about these guys are still alive and well. As a person who has handled hundreds if not thousands of dogs over my life as a volunteer, owner and trainer of dogs I would like to share something I think is important...

Any dog regardless of breed, size, genetic line, or training level is capable of biting. I have been bitten by a good number of dogs and the worst bite I have ever received was by a chocolate lab, that I knew very well by the way. I have been bitten by far more toy breeds than any other breed group.

If you do not like the breed, I've got great news: no one is forcing you to adopt them or buy them. You have free will and can choose any breed or mix you like.

Condemning an entire breed or groups of dogs is akin to any of the nasty -isms in my opinion. One bad experience is not the fault of the whole group. I can point to countless examples of great, loving, intelligent and devoted dogs who happen to fall into the bully breeds category. There is no reason to act as if the sky is falling if you see them out in public or just enjoying their own yard.

Your words and actions matter. Wonderful dogs are being euthanized daily in the US and globally simply for being part of this group who have never hurt a fly much less a person. Please try to see your own bias and be kind to bully lovers even if they aren't for you. ❤️
