He took one of our apple trees and the plum tree we planted last month! He also nearly girdled another apple tree and went after 3 others!
Pretty ironic, the only yard he hit was ours!
Needless to say, the other trees are now wrapped.

I just heard something I've never heard before.

They'll be out soon!

Well, it looks like spring has arrived!
Now is when we will start seeing baby wildlife.
Remember the old saying:
IF YOU CARE, LEAVE IT THERE!
This applies to deer, rabbits and all babies.
If a bird has fallen out of the nest, you can replace it safely. That is the only exception. No, birds will not smell you on the baby.
Yes, nature is beautiful. She is also cruel. But we love her all the same.
Happy spring! 💐🌸🌼

Just FYI, Big Horn County is under rabies quarantine.

03/19/2021

Well, it's official. Yellowstone County is under rabies quarantine.
Last week, a rabid skunk attacked two dogs and a human, I believe.
This week, Dave removed a skunk from a customer's property that had mange.
Last year, we had a skunk population explosion. When that happens, illnesses are inevitable.
Please make sure your pets are vaccinated and avoid any animals acting strangely.
Mange photos in the comments.

Now that things have settled down some, I have to share a story from this summer.
Anyone who knows Dave, knows he is not lazy. He works a full time job and does critters after that job ends for the day and of course, he works weekends too. Having two or more jobs is very normal in Montana.
2020 was CRAZY BUSY! At one point, we had 17 skunk traps out, along with all the other various jobs, including multiple beaver jobs, all at the same time.
A lady called, with a skunk job near Absarokee. Dave politely explained that there was no way he could take the job and referred her to someone closer, in Red Lodge, who might be able to help her. Just the round trip would add at least three hours of driving, per day, putting him home sometime after midnight. Maybe.
She actually told him that he just didn't want to work! WHAT?!?😮 The man hardly sleeps in the summer, because he works so much!
When he told me about that, I nearly fell over laughing! 😂🤣😂

Been doing that pigeon job for eight months now. Today the count hit 1,100 pigeons removed!

Checking rock chuck traps in the rain. Noisy little critters when they're being transferred to the travel cage!

Just finished a beaver job, beautiful pelts on all four of them. The last one was a blonde. Dave just loves chasing those beaver!

So here's an update, sorry they're so few and far between!
Dave started a pigeon job in September, at a storage yard. So far, the count stands at 1,007 birds! Most of those shot with a pellet rifle. Needless to say, the cats and hawks have been eating very well!
And yes, he's had a lot of fun. Even on thanksgiving and Christmas days.

Beautiful work environment and the executive parking spot. Can't beat the views!
