12/15 – Update on Beau!
Beau is now six weeks post-op from his first TPLO surgery. At his two-week post-op check, there was a small section of his incision that hadn’t fully healed. After an additional week in the cone and daily ointment, the incision healed beautifully. Dr. Norris is very pleased with how Beau is using his leg and with his overall progress.
Beau has his eight-week post-op appointment on January 6th, where we’ll determine the timeline for his second leg surgery. Based on his last visit, the vet anticipates he’ll be cleared for the second surgery shortly after that appointment. His second leg is still clearly bothering him, and he has started favoring his “fixed” leg more. While it doesn’t appear that the meniscus in his second leg has torn yet, the vet shared that it’s likely only a matter of time—making it best to move forward with surgery as soon as possible.
When we last shared an update, an incredibly generous gentleman stepped forward and donated the entirety of Beau’s second surgery. Because of this, we have officially reached Beau’s goal! We cannot thank him—and all of you—enough for making this possible.
Beau’s personality is slowly starting to shine through again with lots of love, patience, and TLC.
Happy Holidays, and THANK YOU ALL for your continued support! 🐾💙
