If you can grow "sweet olive" the pollinators will love you for it.
Blueberries are trimmed, mulched, and fed. Ready for next season. Thanks to all who came out to the farmers market. Looking forward to next years harvest.
Our seasonal workers are on the job. Berry season is getting closer!
Our new addition to the farm is already hard at work 24-7 turning garden and kitchen scraps into rich compost.
A little rain shower while watering this morning. Not nearly enough to put a dent in our 2 month drought. The heat and humidity is helping the berries turn dark blue.
The field is mowed, the bushes are loaded and ready. It won't be much longer before we start seeing our first ripe berry. The anticipation is deliciously overwhelming.
Fed, mowed and watered. Another hot hot day in south Mississippi. Everybody's looking good even in the heat. A blessing to all the mother's today.
Warm Gulf breezes and another awesome sunny day is fattening up these little powerhouses. Blueberries are one of the top super foods, fortifying gut and brain health. The fresher the better.
WOW!! What a weekend. I started building our hothouse Friday morning with a forecast of temps in the low 30s by Monday. The heater went in Sunday at 4:30 as the sun was setting. I am so looking forward to going work in the morning, to rest.
