Muzzles do NOT mean your dog is aggressive or bad. This stigma that muzzles are only used if a dog bites/is mean/bad is false.

Auri is a very sweet girl, and we advise that even the nicest of dogs be muzzle conditioned. You never know if you’ll need it for an injury in the future etc.

Tucker has only had 2 lessons so far and his family has already seen a huge improvement in his behavior. Tucker still has a long way to go with his progress, but his family is putting in the work and the progress shows!

Board and Train Leroy has returned home starting his transition back into his family with new manners and structure in place.

Leroy is already more enjoyable for his family to enjoy and handle. The next few weeks are important towards maintaining the foundation that was laid.

We look forward to seeing him in our regular boarding program as he was a fun, cute little guy to have around, but now with even better manners and obedience 🙌🏼

Our Youth Group Class continues to make great progress, learning body language, what to do and not to do, & how to properly communicate with their dog. As well as instilling a good foundation of basic obedience with the kids handling and instructing them. Our next Summer Youth Program is in the Summer of 2025. Dates coming soon.

Board and Train Ellie relaxing in a busy environment. Something that looks so simple but is so challenging for many dogs to do. You have to teach boredom and calm behaviors, for most dogs this doesn’t come naturally! Ellie use to be a busy body, going in which ever direction she wanted, pulling, trying to say hi to everyone etc. To now, watching the environment while also holding a nice down stay while I have a conversation with a colleague. She has only been here a week and a half, and is already making good progress! By teaching her manners: Loose leash walking, obedience, personal space, duration etc. We give her family the opportunity to fully enjoy her as she will be able to go more places with them with ease.

Cats walking by, kids running, balls being kicked or thrown, food left on the table. All while he holds this nice down stay! Great job buddy!!

Our Off Leash Advanced 1.0 Group Class at the barn working through some big distractions 🐎 Everyone did fantastic for their first time being exposed to this type of environment. In our Advanced 1.0 Group Class we teach a group of dogs how to preform their Basic, & Intermediate Obedience off leash in a group environment, while also learning Advanced Obedience. We add distractions in to play to ensure everyone has solid off leash obedience. Like all of our other classes no dogs are to ever meet.

Board and Train Luca for the first time since he’s arrived taking treats from our Trainer Kelsey and was more than happy to do so! He was much happier and relaxed while out and out today. Does this mean he’s perfect & fully comfortable? No, but this is a huge improvement from when we first did an outing like this and from his past experiences we heard about prior to us. So we will take it as a win and continue to build on it to make him more and more comfortable each and every outing. We will start working on more people treating and handling him as the days come. Good boy Luca!!

Our 7 Week Change In Location Intermediate Group Class Day 2 working on loose leash walking scenarios at the Conklin Park. Teaching the dogs there should be no pressure on those leashes while walking. Homework: •Loose leash walking (no pressure) •Adding distance to your change of position •Working on the heal position •Down in motion •Extending Distance and Duration to sit and down stays •Focus while in stays at a distance Practice makes perfect, keep it up!

Hi,

My name is Kelsey i am the Owner and Dog Trainer of M&A Dog Training. I strive to keep my clients happy and to make dog training affordable to the everyday family. I have a strong love for animals and own 3 dogs of my own. I am a volunteer for Bright Star German Shepherd Rescue: where i do in home visits to make sure the families are fit to adopt, as well as i am one of the dog trainers listed on there website, i transport dogs as well as occasionally foster. I am also a volunteer at the Broome County Dog Shelter: i help train dogs that struggle to get adopted.
