🥁Allow me to properly introduce myself.

I am Aakre Mahan, proud owner & founder of Wags on Wheels Pet Taxi. 🚌🐶🐾

♥️At the age of 5, my dream was to care for animals. That was it! No plan B. My fur babies demonstrated unconditional love, needing nothing in return but my time and love. In my eyes, my fur babies exemplified pure love, and they have always been my safe place when people were not.

👩🏾‍⚕️This is why I pursued a career in veterinary medicine and a rescue business. I wanted to help what helped me. While studying animal science at Tuskegee University, I had undergone an experience that conflicted with my values, which forced me to change my career path.

📚I transitioned into education for 14 years, where I underwent a transformative journey of trust. Through my interactions with students, colleagues, & parents, I learned to trust, care, & love people.

♥️On this journey I rediscovered my passion for rescuing fur babies in a new way. The demand and need from friends, family, colleagues & neighbors for pet transportation services opened my eyes to a new way of fulfilling my purpose.

👁️God’s mission was to show me that in order to reveal and fulfill my vision of caring for His fur babies, I had to learn how to trust His people♥️.

⏳It was all in God’s timing. Even though I didn’t become a veterinarian , I reinvented how I rescued my furry friends. His plans are always bigger and better!🙌🏾

😭Rescued this baby from the cold last night. 🤬Owner was asked to bring the pup inside because of the frigid temps. His response was, “ No, it’s just a dog.”. 🏡I brought the pup home and provided a warm shelter, food/water, and lots of hugs and love. 😢Unfortunately I can’t keep this sweet baby due to my village of fur babies I have already. 🥺Is there a loving family who would welcome this sweet baby into your home? 🥰She’s sweet as pie, very friendly and loves children! 🤗She loves giving hugs, she’s crate trained, and she has the potential of being house trained as well!! ❤️I would be more than happy to donate a crate along with food & toys as well! 😭It breaks my heart of the hard reality that there are so many pets that didn’t have this chance. 📢If you can’t take care of an animal, DON’T GET ONE!!!!! PERIOD!!!! 🚨And please be aware, if I catch anyone neglecting an animal, AND I MEAN ANYONE, I will report you. #nowrunandtellthat
