Update: We got eyes on 5 of the cats and they appear safe. The first trailer is a total loss and that woman’s cat is still missing. Our colony stays under the tan trailer but we don’t believe they’ll have to haul it off but instead just repair it. If that’s the case then the plan is to not move the cats. Their caretaker will be by multiple times to try to get eyes on the rest of the cats and we’ll trap any injured ones. We will be alerted if something happens to the tan trailer.

Currently searching for this woman’s cat at the trailer park.

Update: We will be trapping and relocating the cats from the Calera mobile home park to Birmingham (staying inside).

Okay, the plan is to round up the cats tomorrow and get them to our Valleydale location. They lost their home and the increased activity with EMS vehicles and construction crews will not be good for them.

This is the site of our fixed, feral cat colony. The mobile home park was hit. From this picture it looks like the foundations are intact and I hope that’s the same for the rest of the homes… I’m hoping the cats are all hiding underneath them. Lots of EMS vehicles now so I’m sure that’s freaking them out more. Any injured cats will be addressed in the morning when it’s safe to be there.

I hope the human lives are safe too 🙏🏼

We think our cat colony in Calera at the mobile home park was just hit. We cannot get ahold of their caretaker who lives there.

I hope everyone stays safe today!

We’ve got about 300 microchipped animals here at our facility if anything were to go wrong.

He says there’s no p**pin’ in his bedroom!

He also always p*es on the p*e pad.

Sprout is such a smart dog!

Oh my Daisy girl 🌼❤️

Another step to a better life!

Please… Before you think about buying a small breed, purebred puppy, look at this sweet face who was r*ped for years and forced to birth and raise puppies for profit then discarded when she was no longer useful. She never got to experience life as a puppy or the comfort of a home. Rescues shouldn’t be saving these dogs but that’s the current state of animal welfare.

Daisy got all of her rotten incisors removed and the rest of her teeth cleaned today while she got that overused uterus removed. Look at those pearly whites! The most important thing the next 1-2 weeks will be pain management. I hope she understands that I love her and this is just temporary so she can live her best life outside of a puppy mill. We still need about $300 more in donations to cover today. Please see our previous post on ways to help or you can call Caldwell Mill Animal Clinic directly at 205-991-7986 and make a donation on our account. Thank you so much!!

More donations needed for our puppy mill mama Daisy. After finishing up with her spay, Dr W was able to get a really good look in the back of her mouth and she has some rotten teeth that needed to come out. This will greatly improve her quality of life! Hoping to raise $400 today to cover her spay, dental with extractions, and pain meds. Thank you so much!
