One person guessed right! A 1.5 year old miniature poodle with Legg Calvé Perthes will be joining the rescue from the Amish puppy mills later this week. This makes him ineligible to breed so he ended up on the list. Surgery is required where the femoral head is cut down and a new joint is made on either side. I don’t have a picture of him to post yet so I posted some educational material 🤓

What can you do to help? Well, this guy will be neutered, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and microchipped before leaving Ohio. I’m hoping to raise about $300 to cover that. Then next week, he’ll see our local vet for X-rays and any additional vetting… and get on the surgery schedule.

We first need to raise the $300 to cover his vetting before he leaves on transport then we need pledges for his surgery.

Eden was made one too so it will go to the next puppy 🙏🏼❤️ … I’ll make a separate post showing those. I absolutely love these blankets and if the animal passes way then it’s a special thing for me to keep.

If you need immediate help with a stray, YOU are that immediate help. A garage or a bathroom is a perfect place to temporarily house an animal… or a crate!

You have two dogs/cats already? We have 5-10.
You have an aggressive animal? So do we.
You can still make temporary accommodations.

We are not miracle workers and need time to network and find fosters. Just help us.

Shoutout to our vet Caldwell Mill Animal Clinic!

“Hey I just wanted to reach out and thank you. Since meeting you, you’ve saved my butt as well as friends and family.
My friends bengal recently had a bad accident, breaking her hip bone joint.
Caldwell was and has been amazing.
After initially treating her, my friends took her home and she declined. They were lost, they called Caldwell to ask if it’d be more humane to let her go she was in so much pain.
They first of course recommended you! That you could possibly take her on and care for her. They were so reluctant but wanted the best for her, so they agreed.
Caldwell ended up calling them back minutes later saying they knew they didn’t want to let go of her and were essentially stuck between a rock and hard place.
They gave them another option, they would take care of her until she passed the most critical part of recovery at a discount. So she wouldn’t be in pain and would heal.
We all cried! I cannot believe how amazing that place is! Thank you for introducing me to it for my pets and my family and friends!”

I accidentally drugged Gigi for the event. She slept for the entire event and didn’t want to wake up (she’s fine now). The doggy refresher spray I sprayed FIVE TIMES on her was chamomile 😂😂😂🤦‍♀️

What a completely different cat! Keller Marmalade improved so quickly at the emergency vet. He was only on oxygen for less than an hour. They still don’t know why he crashed like that. His glucose levels are back to normal so that was a ridiculous stress response… to dying. As previously stated, his lungs and heart sounded good so no pneumonia or heart issues. His lymphocytes are still elevated so they want us to follow up with more bloodwork next week. He’ll continue on antibiotics. Thank you for donating! That was really scary.

TRANSPORT FOUND. Transport needed from Pell City Animal Control Center to Birmingham! This girl isn’t doing well at the shelter and needs out. I would also like to take her sibling. Is anyone available to transport on this rainy day?

This is Sinny telling me he’s hungry 🙂 Sinny is immobile and relies on me to provide his meals. He is currently eating his can of Fancy Feast salmon as I type this.

Oh my word!!! This girl was labeled as “semi feral” and at risk for euthanasia at Pell City. A foster picked her up this morning and look at her!! She is so happy to be out of that stressful environment. She was just scared 😭 Please don’t overlook or give up on these kitties. You will change a life by picking the scared and shut down animal at the shelter.
