Hi, I’m Ashley Tate, the trainer here at The Dog Stop in Trussville! 🐕✨ From a young age, I’ve been surrounded by animals, inspired by my grandmother, who trained and showed dogs in competitions. That’s where my passion for training began—and I’ve been chasing that dream ever since. 💕

With 13+ years of experience in doggy daycare, training, and care, I’ve had the privilege of working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. 🎓 I’m a proud graduate of Animal Behavior College (with honors!) and an AKC-certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator. I specialize in basic and advanced obedience, behavioral issues, and more.

Every dog has its own story, and no two situations are the same—that’s what makes my job so exciting! 🐶💡 Whether it’s teaching a pup new skills or helping a family create a stronger bond, I’m here to help.

Hey! I've got a beautiful blue and white female Stafford Terrier. She is about 1 1/2 years old and completely up to date on her vaccines, heartworm preventative, and just got spayed. She is the sweetest and most affectionate girl! She had a litter of 9 pups a few months ago. We have found great homes for 5 of them, but the last 4 are still waiting... 2 males, and 2 females. When it comes to training your furry friend, remember to meet them where they're at. Dogs, just like people, have different personalities, abilities, and learning styles. Lowering your expectations doesn't mean settling for less; rather, it's about understanding and working with your dog's current capabilities.

1. Patience is Key: Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is a perfectly trained dog. Be patient with your pup as they learn new commands and behaviors. Rome may not have been built in a day, but progress can be made with consistent effort.

2. Tailor Your Approach: Every dog is unique. Some may pick up commands quickly, while others may need more time and repetition. Tailor your training approach to suit your dog's individual needs, whether it's using treats, toys, or positive reinforcement techniques.

3. Celebrate Small Victories: Recognize and celebrate even the smallest achievements. Whether it's a successful sit or a recall in the park, praise and reward your dog for their efforts. This positive reinforcement will encourage them to continue learning and trying their best.

Hello, my name is Jenny. I have a 2 year old Golden Doodle, Sadie, who is full of energy. I found Ashley when I was looking for some sort of training for her. I wanted her to walk on the leash without dragging us and to not jump on people when they came to our house. I wasn’t expecting a miracle. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. After meeting and talking with Ashley I decided to start her 7 day board and train. I watched every video of her doing many different commands as well as meeting them at the park to see her in action. I couldn’t believe it! She was a different dog! I was so impressed, happy and so proud of my girl. She was sitting, going to her “place”, walking beside us instead of pulling us. I couldn’t have been any happier with our experience. Ashley was absolutely fantastic with her and so patient. If you are even thinking of doing this with your dog DO IT!! I highly recommend Ashley!! Hello, my name is Jenny. If you’re looking for dog training at a very reasonable rate please give Ashley Tate @ The Dog Stop a call. It seemed like every pet store we went into around Trussville recommended Ashley. She has worked with our Aussiedoodle Mini for the last couple months and we have seen major improvements with him. I love the way Ashley does her training with the live feeds. You can watch her live as she is training your pet and rewatch it later if you missed something. I can’t wait to get Bear into another training session. I highly recommend Ashley with any of your dog training needs.
