Create a Pet Emergency Kit — Include food, water, meds, leashes, and comfort items.
Safe Space — Set up a secure, quiet area indoors to help ease anxiety.
ID Tags & Microchip — Ensure your pet’s ID tags are up-to-date in case you get separated.
Evacuation Plan — Know where you’ll go if you need to leave, and make sure pets are included in the plan.
Storm-Phobic Pet? — If your pet gets anxious during storms, reach out to your vet about anxiety medications or calming solutions. It’s better to be prepared than to see them suffer.

We are a full-service veterinary hospital and boarding facility that follows a fear-free approach, ensuring every pet has a positive and safe experience.

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide attentive care and interaction for dogs and cats in our boarding facility.
-Feed and provide fresh water to pets according to company protocols and client instructions.
-Walk dogs and engage in playtime with both dogs and cats to promote enrichment.
-Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment by:
—Cleaning and disinfecting cages, dog runs, and cat condos.
—Performing waste removal and ensuring all areas are tidy.
—Washing floors, scrubbing walls, dusting, vacuuming, and removing trash.
-Greet clients during pet drop-off and pick-up, providing excellent customer service.
-Wash and launder towels, beds, and blankets to maintain a fresh and clean environment.

What We’re Looking For:
-Passion for working with animals and ensuring their safety and comfort.
-Strong attention to detail with cleanliness and care routines.
-Ability to work in a physically active role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and being on your feet for extended periods.
-Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-Previous animal care experience is a plus but not required: we will train the right person!

Preventative Care Saves Lives: A Heartfelt Diagnosis

One of our team members recently had a preventative echocardiogram performed on their 10-year-old dog, which revealed early-stage dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)—a condition where the heart muscle weakens and struggles to pump blood effectively. Despite having no symptoms and no heart murmur, this early diagnosis allows for proactive management to help slow disease progression and maintain her quality of life.

DCM is a serious but often silent condition, especially in its early stages. By the time symptoms like coughing, fatigue, or difficulty breathing appear, the disease may already be advanced. That’s why preventative diagnostics, such as echocardiograms (see image below), are so important—especially for at-risk breeds or senior pets. Early detection gives us the opportunity to intervene sooner, improving both lifespan and well-being.

This case is a powerful reminder that what we can’t hear with a stethoscope, we can often see with advanced imaging. If you have an aging pet or a breed prone to heart disease, talk to us about whether a preventative echocardiogram could benefit them! ❤️🐾

Silent Threat: Undiagnosed Heart Disease in Pets

Did you know that 60% of dogs over the age of 9 have preclinical heart disease, often without showing any symptoms?

According to the EPIC Study, many dogs with stage B2 myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) could benefit from early detection and treatment—potentially extending their quality of life.

Cats, too, are at risk! Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common heart disease in cats, yet many affected felines show no outward signs. A simple blood test (NT-proBNP) and echocardiogram can help detect this silent killer before it's too late.
