Update!!!
Adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LHP/Dog
Always lived with elderly people all her life.
Current owner is 91, has had two hip replacements and not healing very well and has also just been diagnosed with a form of Parkinson's disease.
She has resource guards food.
Owner's son is assisting the owner with all caregiving.
I was misinformed at the vet when they said he was going to euthanize the pup. The owner's son does not plan on euthanizing the pup, I was mistaken. He said he will continue to work with it until he finds her a home. He does want her to have a good home.
Owner believes she would do better with an elderly family.
Gets along with other dogs.
Cats unknown.
She's never been around children.
She's only been around elderly people.
She doesn't play with toys.
She does like attention she does want to be with people.
I would call her a floor potato because she's never been allowed to get on the furniture.
She does have a fatty tumor on her belly, but Dr. Foster said that it is benign she does need a dental and a couple of teeth removed, but other than that, she is up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea prevention and spayed.
She is housebroken.
She is crate trained.
She is very calm pup.
She is good being left. Currently has no anxiety issues possibly hard of hearing.
She needs to be on a schedule with eating because she will eat till she explodes.
She will yelp a little bit if she thinks she's going to be dropped or kicked could possibly be a little bit of eyesight loss or cataracts.
The owner is very alert would like to be a part of rehoming.
They can do meet and greet at his mom's old house which is empty and no problem if people bring their other dogs to meet her.
⚠️ 📢 🚨 HELP 🚨📢⚠️
Let's unite to find Tillie a new home!
This sweet 12-year-old Beagle/Dachshund Mix, weighing 19 pounds, spayed, and current on all care, is in need.
Her elderly owner's hip injury has made continued care impossible.
The owner is faced with finding her a home or she will euthanize Tillie (to avoid taking her tobthe shelter). This absolutely breaks my heart 😭 for the dog and the owner!
Share Tillie's story and let's help get her in a home!
Edit: harsh judgments against the owner will not be tolerated. I hate this as much as the next person but we are trying to help Tillie. This is a double edge sword yall.
