Happy New Year to all of our wonderful patients... And clients! What a year 2020 was?! We could have never predicted the challenges that we would come to face individually, as a community, or as a small business.
In March, we just went with the flow and there were many days that we would come to work to find that we would have to change how we operate for the 2,386,836 time! Some days things changed by the hour. We remember that Friday that we came in and literally hours later we were advised to lock our doors and begin offering curbside service. To be honest, we didn’t know what we were doing. Clients had dropped pets off for spring break to come back and find we were no longer allowing clients in. How terrifying this was? We were cussed at, honked at, yelled at daily, only to continue to press on. The stress we all felt as humans, at this moment in time, was unthinkable. One thing that has been a constant, is the ability to be with your pet during those end of life visits. This is a visit we do not take lightly and we will always accommodate you during this visit.
Once we got the hang of it we still weren’t happy. In May, when things tried to ease up we started trying to let clients back. This is what we enjoy. Being able to have clients and their pets in our hospital at the same time. Sadly, at the end of the month, we were met with a new mask mandate in Jefferson County that would soon expand into a statewide mandate. So, once again we were advised to no longer allow clients in.
By summertime, we had a workload like no other. We were so incredibly blessed, grateful, tired, exhausted, understaffed, and so thankful that each of you continued to use us for your veterinary needs. We know how hard it is to watch someone come take your pet while the Doctor does the visit. We understand the anxiety this may cause for you and your pet. We understand the frustration you feel when you are told you may have up to an hour or longer wait time. But each of you know t
Ever wonder what the creepy crawlers in the ears look like?! These are ear mites! Just found in a cat. Ughhhhh... Could you imagine 😖 However, this is pretty cool to see 🔍
☀️It’s Monday!
📌As mentioned in a previous post, Governor Ivey eased up some of the Safer At Home regulations this past Friday. These regulations now in place do still have strict social distancing and must operate at a 50% capacity.
So how are we easing back in to some normalcy ⬇️
🔸We are now allowing clients to come in during your pets visit with the Doctor. Only 1 person will be allowed in with 1 pet at a time, no exceptions. If you are a high risk client or prefer to remain in your car, please know, you are welcome to do so.
🔸Our doors WILL remain locked to allow us to control the amount of people coming in and out of the clinic, while properly disinfecting between clients. We will allow both exam rooms to be occupied and once one is cleared, cleaned, disinfected, we will bring the next client in. You MUST still call when you arrive, for us to put you in line to be seen. We do have shift changes throughout our day, so keep in mind you may not always get the same person you spoke with earlier in the day. *If you do not call or politely knock, we do not know you are here* We will get your phone number and call you when your room is ready. Clients are put in line to be seen in the order the phone call or knock is received.
🔸All drop off/pick ups will still be the same as we have been doing. If you are dropping off for grooms, surgeries, baths, etc you will still be required to call and someone will come to your car and get your pet. If you are picking up your pet in the afternoon or picking up medication, we will deliver your medication or bring your pet to your car. With the amount of drop offs/pick ups in the afternoon, we can not allow everyone in the lobby at the same time and be able to maintain social distancing.
🔸When you are picking up, we will be happy to process your payment by phone and bring your receipts out when we bring your pet or medication. This will allow us to speed up the checkout process. If you are in the cl
