2025 is a year full of opportunities and new adventures for me. One of them being, if we can get enough interest, starting adult focused equine lessons. These do not have to be riding lessons. They can be just about being around horses and how to do that safely, learning how to handle horses on the ground, learning about the equipment needed and the proper way to care for it and use it and of course learning how to put it all together and ride. I know many of my friends do riding lessons for the kiddos but I am wanting to focus on adults. The people who grew up wanting to be around horses but either never having the time, the money or maybe parents who weren’t so keen on the idea. The people who need an avenue to release stress, tension or anxiety. The people who just want to try something new! These lessons are focused on people that are new or newer to horses and right now I’m putting some feelers out to see who may be interested. Please feel free to comment here or shoot me a PM. Hopefully there is enough interest to bring this to realty and we get some great people introduced to the wonderful world or horses.

Thanks to the amazing Miller’s Vet Clinic we now have a fresh gelding in the barn. Bilbo handled this devastating (his words) loss with dignity and grace. I can’t wait to work with my new gelding and see where the trail takes us.

Me and Mazikeen had a great ride today. The guys hauling the giant crane asked us to stick around in case they needed our help moving it. Lmao. Nothing phases this mare but boy does she have an attitude.

About a month ago GypsyHill acquired a little mare called Blanca. The ad for Blanca literally said “crazy, bunch of behavioral issues” and so on. So we expected the worst. Tyler made the drive to pick up this little mare as my work schedule didn’t allow me to that day. When he got to their trailer she had a rope tied around her neck that was so tight he had to run and grab a knife to get it cut off of her. He was able to walk right in and halter her and she loaded like a dream in to our trailer. Get her home and gave her a few days to settle in before introducing her to any of our horses. Ad also said she was 7 years old but it turns out she’s actually more like 3 years old. To make a long long story short, after a short time with us this little mare is a gem! Just proves that a horse in the wrong hands, isn’t a bad horse, just a horse without proper guidance or partner.

Good genetics play a huge role in an animal. Almost as much as what you put in to them. Lake Nowhere Gabriel wearing the saddle for the first time and taking a rider. Looks like short trails soon. Good job Gabes!

Sometimes working a stressful day job and running GHFs can feel like I work 24/7, but I’ll tell you there is NO better feeling than when a clients brain finally kicks in, in all the right ways. It makes it all worth it! Stanley has become such an awesome saddle donk and we braved the big metropolis of Bishop Hill today solo. We of course had to stop and see our friends at Krans Kafe and get a delicious drink before riding home.

Had a great ride on Miss Polly tonight. She’s built a lot of confidence and it seems things are really clicking now. Grateful for her great owners to let me work with this gal. Bridges, riding alone and water seemed to be her biggest fear and she’s now facing these challenges with only slight hesitation.
