I apologize for being closed yesterday. We were at VEG emergency hospital with our beloved dog, Eleanor. Yesterday morning, we had to say goodbye. It still doesn't feel real. She was the sweetest, most even tempered dog I have ever met; and the joy she brought us cannot be measured. Thank you to Surrey County Animal Shelter for saving her life and bringing her into ours. I wish they had a page so I could tag them here. Please hug your dog today for me, and your cat if it likes that kind of thing! They are not with us long enough.

Barking Mountain Pet Styles is having a nail trim clinic the third Saturday of each month in our store. Most dogs are $10-$20, and they get them done pretty quickly. We are back to regular hours (Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-3, closed Sunday & Monday). The landline is still down but you can email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

We lost a lot of inventory from flooding, and all frozen foods from the power outage. It's taking a little while to restock everything, but we are getting there.

We have been opening every day at noon and staying until no one has come by since the storm. Just today we got internet back, so I haven't been able to update. For the time being, we will be opening Tuesday-Saturday at noon. Usually here until 3 or 4, but if no traffic at all, I go home because lots is needing done around the neighborhood.

At the moment, we have internet and can take cards, but it's come and gone twice so I hate to assume it's back for good. But if you are a regular, just take whatever you need on the honor system if the credit card machine is down. And if you or anyone you know needs pet food and has no means of paying, we can donate something. Inventory is not great and some foods are being held for certain customers, but I'm sure we can keep pet's bellies full. The land line for the store is down and cell service is spotty at best, but someone will be here at 12 every day.

No deliveries ran last week but they should be able to make it this week -so as of Thursday we should be stocked up on the essentials, at least. I hope everyone is safe and sound and it's been great seeing familiar faces again. We will get through this. It gets a little better every day. Thank you all so much.
