I need to apologize to my Paw Starz family for my silence the past few weeks. Please know that I have not been ignoring anyone, I have been struggling. I have been having some pretty serious health issues that arose the beginning of this month. No matter what I did or tried, I couldn't get myself feeling better. I want everyone to know that I understand the inconvenience this has placed on many, and that I am beyond sorry. I am back to work and will be working to reschedule this weekend. Please be patient with me as I am still not 100%. I am moving a little slower and I have to listen to my body. I love and miss all of my pups that I have missed over the past few weeks. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Years!!! I am feeling much better and am finally back in the shop! I have missed all my pup clients so much! Thank you to everyone who has had patience with me, sent me well wishes, and reached out to me while I was sick. I tell you what, it was a doozy! Now I ask for a bit more patience on rescheduling everyone. I am only one human, though I wish I could clone myself to get some help. I will be scheduling dogs who have not had a groom in the longest time. I know I have some clients that like every 3-5 weeks, and I have to prioritize dogs that haven't been in in 10+ weeks. I will be working a couple of Saturdays to get everybody done.

Thank you again for all of your love and support! You guys are the greatest family a girl could ask for!

Thank you all for your patience. It seems like whatever has a hold of me isn't letting go. I am hoping to be back in the shop tomorrow or Friday. Please know I'm not ignoring anyone, I am just trying to get through this illness without going into the hospital.

Unfortunately, Paw Starz is closed this week. I have caught a nasty bug and have been extremely sick. I apologize for all the inconvenience this causes.

With the dog mystery respiratory illness going around across the country, I wanted to answer some questions that I have been getting from clients.

1: I do not accept dogs who are sick or are showing signs of illness.
2: My blades, shears, and anything that I use on a dog are disinfected with a blade and shear disinfectant or 99% alcohol between dogs. This is a practice that I do all the time.
3: My table is disinfected with either OdoBan or bleach between dogs. I also wipe down my clippers, grooming loops, and dry cages.
4: Rarely do I have more than 2 dogs from different houses in my shop at a time. I am a small shop and only one person.

Please know that I take the safety of my pups very seriously and I do everything in my power to keep them safe and healthy while in my care. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me on my cell phone.

Nail trims are so important! Overgrown nails can cause arthritis and pain, and some can curl into a paw. Nail trims are a walk in service and only $5! I also trim cat nails!

As a groomer, I want to provide to best groom to my clients and send them home with an incredible haircut..... As a compassionate groomer, I choose not to put certain dogs through that stress.

This is Henry, and he's an older gentleman on hospice. He is covered in bumps and lumps, has a hard time standing, and looks partially blind. His mom brings him in only when he absolutely nerds it for his comfort. And as his groomer, I do what I can to only make him comfortable. His cut is uneven (to avoid nicking moles and lumps) and far from perfect, but he is comfortable and not stressed. This is what groomer's need to strive for. Beautiful grooms, and also comfortable clients. Thanks to Henry's mom for trusting me with this sweet old man!

Her mom is still having health issues, and every little bit helps. I donate $15 towards each groom, and Christmas gets groomed every 12 weeks, so I am hoping to raise $200. To my amazing clients, I need to apologize. I took the first week of September off to spend time with my family. As luck had it, I ended up getting very, very ill the second week of September. I am finally back in the shop and am working very hard to get everyone rescheduled. Please have patience with me as I am still recovering and have a little lingering illness. I also want to thank everyone who sent me well wishes and have been so understanding. I love all of my clients and am so glad to be back to groom your pups!

I need to give a huge shout out to my clients. This last week has been rough and you all have stood by me! Thank you! My daughter and I were involved in a wreck last week, then we got the monster of all illnesses. It was horrendous. To those I've had to reschedule, thank you for being so understanding. To those who have reached out to schedule, please know I will get you in! Today is my first day back in the shop. I'm not 100%, yet I'm alive! I know how inconvenient it is to get last minute reschedules, and I'm so so sorry. Thank you again for being more like family then just clients!

Unfortunately due to an increase of same day cancellations and reschedules and no shows, I will be implementing a new cancellation and no sow policy. See the policy below:

Paw Starz Cancellation and No Show Policy

I understand that things in life happen, and we cannot always control it. Unfortunately, no show and last minute cancellations have increased to the point that I now need to put a policy in place. Allowing me 24 hours notice gives me time to fill your appointment slot.

No Call No Show

A no call no show appointment is any appointment where contact is not made to reschedule or cancel the appointment.

First No Show - 20% of the groom fee per dog that will be paid before the next appointment is scheduled.

Second No Show - 60% of the groom fee per dog that will be paid before the next appointment is scheduled.

Third No Show - 100% of the groom fee per dog plus a deposit of 100% for the next appointment, paid before the next appointment is scheduled.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and rescheduling appointments need to be done at least 24 hours before your appointment. This allows me time to schedule another dog(s) in that appointment slot. If an emergency happens, please notify me as quickly as possible. Emergencies will not be subject to the cancellation policy.

First cancellation/reschedule after 24 hours - $20 fee per dog will be applied and payable at the next appointment.

Second cancellation/reschedule after 24 hours - If back to back with First cancellation/reschedule after 24 hours, a $40 fee per dog will be applied payable before the next groom appointment is scheduled. If not back to back, a
$20 fee will be applied per dog payable at the next grooming appointment.

Third cancellation/reschedule after 24 hours - If back to back with First and Second cancellation/reschedule after 24 hours, a fee of $60 or 100% of the groom, whichever is lower, will be applied and payable before the next appointment is scheduled. If not back to back, a $40 fee will be applied per dog and payable before the next grooming appointment.

How stinking cute is this?? Jack and Bonnie came in for a spaw day, and were completely tuckered out! This was Jack's second groom, and Bonnie's first. These babies did so good! Bringing groom dogs in as soon as they are fully vaccinated is very important to getting them introduced and used to the grooming experience. I work very hard to make things less scary and as enjoyable as possible. And of course, my daughter makes the best pup nap place lol

Good morning Paw Starz Family! I just wanted to jump on and let everyone know I have a couple appointment slots still open this week! Let me know if I can give your pup a spa day!

Also, I am excited to announce that when you adopt a dog from the Blackfoot Animal Shelter and Rescue, they will include a 20% coupon for the pup's first spa day with me! I have worked in rescue my entire life, an I understand dogs that come out of shelters. Many of them are terrified, skittish, and will have some fear aggression, and I have been able to work slowly and gently to earn their trust!! I am hoping to have the coupons to Amanda at the Shelter this evening.

I watched this girl run all over Blackfoot, and it broke my heart every time I saw her or saw a post about her. Finally, I got lucky and with the help of so many people, I was able to catch her! I took her to the shelter to be scanned for a chip, but she didn't have one. She spent the night with them, then I went and picked her up first thing Thursday morning and got to work getting all the matts and cockleburs off her. She has a pretty bad double ear infection, and a sore on one hind leg, but seems otherwise ok! She did really good for her shave down and was so so sweet! She did amazing with my Rottweiler, a big doodle, and a little Shi Tzu. I called her Willow while I had her, although I don't know what the shelter will end up naming her. I am just so glad we all got her safe and comfortable!

Gaining and keeping a dog's trust is the biggest accomplishment as a groomer. I have a young Shar Pei that comes to me who has some attitude issues sometimes. He had a scary incident at the vet a couple of weeks ago when they were clipping his nails, and his mom got in touch with me before his bath to let me know about it and let me decide if I wanted to continue to bathe him. He has never shown aggression towards me, and I have worked with him since his mom got him. I told her I would still take him, and if he showed signs of aggression, I would stop and call her. Guess what? He didn't. He was still nervous for his bath, and was a little extra scared for the blow dryer (which was fine, he dried in a dry cage), but did amazing for his brush out. He even let me dremel his nails. That is huge, especially after his incident at the vet. Afterwards, he got lots of loves, treats, and told what an amazing boy he is, and he was happy when mom picked him up. Most dogs are not aggressive, they get scared and do what they can to protect themselves. The trust I built with this Shar Pei let him know that nothing I do will hurt him, and I will respect him when he is scared. I love grooming. I love working with dogs that some say need a muzzle or are aggressive. I was raised with dogs, and feel like I can read dogs really well. Most of the time, they just need a break and to be shown that I am not going to hurt them. I also love that my pup's parents know that their babies will be treated like my babies when they are with me. Thank you to all my human clients, for letting me be a part of your furbabies lives!

These 2 beautiful girls graced my table today and they were absolutely AMAZING! This was their first appointment with me, and these ladies were right at home. They are the sweetest!

Also letting everyone know, I will be closed Monday, September 5th and Thursday thru Friday, September 8th & 9th. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Tuesday & Wednesday I will be open and can still do walk-in appointments for nails, glands, and Face/Feet/F***y.

Have you got a pup that needs a good de-shed?? This is the place to go! This is Tripp, and he comes to see me every couple months for a good de-shed bath and brush out. I am able to get the majority of his loose undercoat out in the tub and with the dryer, so brushing is less stressful on him. Isn't he BEAUTIFUL?!?!?!
