We are an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that runs exclusively on donations and the occasional small g

rant. Bingham County is blessed with generous veterinary clinics that allow us to sell low cost spay and neuter vouchers to assist Bingham County residents in financial need. BCHS also pays money towards every cat voucher to assist in the total savings. The veterinarians and the Bingham County Humane Society do this to help end the suffering and euthanasia of healthy and treatable cats and dogs in Bingham County. BCHS has a small, cat only shelter that assists the residents of Bingham County in rehoming healthy, companion cats, and unwanted kittens. We are not a municipal animal shelter and not affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States. Unfortunately, we cannot take in and house injured, ill, or feral cats due to space and cost. Please take those animals to a veterinarian or the Blackfoot Animal Shelter located at 199 Frontage Road. Their phone number is 208-785-6897. After business hours please call police dispatch at 208-785-1234 for assistance. Please do not dump animals in the country or leave them outside at our location. Give the animals a chance by taking them to the shelter. We do have a limited number of older/special needs adoptable cats housed at our location, most of our kittens and young adult cats can be adopted through our shelter at 766 S Broadway, in Blackfoot, just call/text 208-680-3881 to set up an appointment or the PetSmart adoption center in Idaho Falls at 2300 E 17th. Please take care when entering our building, we do have a couple of resident cats who are loose. Please don't let them out!

We had a great day at PetSmart!!! We raised $184.29 and had $45 to put with it for a total of $229.29 which we presented to Bingham County Humane Society at the end of the event. Thanks to everyone who came by our table.

Firewood fundraiser for the Bingham County Humane Society

$100 per cord.
One of our supporters has just cut down a 60 ft dead pine tree in Blackfoot.

All money will be donated to the Bingham County Humane Society in Blackfoot.

You cut to size and bring a truck or trailer to haul it.
We can help load it.
You can take just the trunk pieces, or any and all of the smaller blanches if you want them also. The branches are large enough to be used for firewood too.
Message if you would like to come and get some or all of it.

How does spaying and neutering saves lives?
Kittens born outside have less than a 75% surviving a year. If you spay/neuter your own pets, their kittens/puppies don’t take the homes from kittens/puppies in shelters. It can also save your pets life. Cancers found in intact animals are rarely found in fixed pets. Some cancers, like testicular cancer is impossible.
Your community and neighborhood will be happier that you’re not adding to stray cat population.
As far as cats being “not your cat”, they’ve been let down by their people, it takes good people to step up and help.

Some of the students from Independence High School in Blackfoot have generously donated their skills that they have learned at school to build outdoor cat shelters which will be for sale starting tomorrow 10/31/2025.
All of the money from the sales will be donated to the Bingham County Humane Society.
You can see the shelters at our building on 766 South Broadway in Blackfoot.

We have had the pleasure of meeting this amazing group of young people and seeing the enthusiasm of how they have come together to do something good for the community.

Please come and take a look at them and give us an offer.
Per the request of the IHS, the highest offer over the $300 cost of the materials will take one home.
Keep in mind this is for a very good cause built with love by some amazing young people.

They are very well built and super insulated. You will not find a more sturdy kitty shelter than what these young people have built.

Dexter is still missing its been 48 hours if not longer!! I am very devastated that he isn't home!! It's cold and I am worried about him. If you see him or know someone who has or has him please give me a call 2085166594 or shoot me a text. I am missing him deeply!!
He is my baby and has separations anxiety from me. I got him from my best friend the love of my life and he passed away 3 1/2 months ago so Dexter means more to me than I can ever say!!
