Some dogs have that special something, that try. My first border collie, Flo, had it and after her injury and semi-retirement I wasn't sure I would find a dog that would get me as far as she could have, and mean as much to me as she does.
However, God was watching out for us and sent us her daughter! SBS Mae has filled the shoes that her mother can no longer fill. Flo got me into the border collie world, and when she got hurt Mae took it from there.
Mae is still young but she is a big part of why I am where I am today. She is the dog that showed me what training should look like. She is the dog that took me to the Open. She is now the go to dog for any job and she continues to show the grit and try that her mother has.
Some dogs just have that special something!

Rip ended up pulling his ACL last week while we were moving cows. He’s recovering well though and after a bit more time off he should be back to normal! Extremely grateful it wasn’t worse and looking forward to having this guy back on the payroll!

Flo x Ripper babies are 3 weeks old today! I’m pretty excited to see what these little tikes grow into the next few weeks! Both mom and dad are extremely strong dogs that I’ve never had back down from anything. Both are bonafide pair dogs as well, and have miles of using on them. They both have also been successful and won money trialing. Working with one of our client’s dogs, Dodge. He’s doing pretty dang good and coming along nicely! Here we are working on him thinking on his own a little and keeping the stock coming towards me. We don’t want him to need to be micromanaged, we want him to be able to think on his own as well as listen to the commands he gets.
