One of the hardest things to do is delete a dog from our calendar, once they cross the Rainbow Bridge. I'm so thankful we got to spend a little extra time with this precious pup a few days beforehand. Over the last few years, Eli bonded with Sadie. He loves all of our visitors to The Ridge, but Sadie- she was just special to him. When her eyes were sad, she lit up when Eli walked in. She wouldn't let him do much work, either. She just wanted his affection. In the beginning, they would run and play, but last week, she was content to just sit on the porch beside of him- and he was happy to oblige. Sometimes, you just have those pups that will always be in your heart. Sadie will always be in Eli's.
We will never forget you Sadie Ledford. Thank you Ledford family for allowing us to love on her! ❤️ 🐾

The thing is, your dog knows when you’re sad, even when you try to hide it. They sense it in the way you move, in the quiet moments when your energy shifts. You don’t have to say a word; they pick up on it like it’s second nature. And when they know, they don’t ask questions, don’t push you to explain. I know Grandma misses her husband. I know she misses her home. I know she wishes she could still do many things. I know- and so do our girls. They offer a silent love and friendship that can't even be explained.

We have been so busy at the end of our boarding season this year, that we have hardly had time to post ANYTHING!
- I did want to quickly share that I have made a new friend...Willow.

Alex and I are taking a hiatus to serve in Ponce, PR this week.
Please pray for us, our missions team and the precious people in the local community of Ponce. We always try to be a blessing to others- But it always ends up being the EXACT opposite. The blessings we have recieved are abundant!

Sherlock is looking for his forever family. He is a boxer- bully, approx. 2 to 3 years old. I had him neutered this summer and got his vaccinations up to date. He is such a sweet boy. He was originally posted as a starving stray on Blacksburg chatterbox at the beginning of summer. I found him in the Antioch community and couldn't leave him there. More than 25 people commented about him and that someone should go get him- and I did.
He has gotten along with every dog that has visited The Ridge this summer. I have not wanted to "advertise" him because I'm not a rescue and because I don't trust people with this breed of dog. I won't just give him to some random stranger. I have contacted 13 rescues from Pennsylvania to Florida with no help offerred- as well as many local rescues.
This boy needs to be on the couch watching TV with a family every night. He would be a perfect watch dog for a single woman or a single guy. I cannot attest to how he will be with small children- because I don't have any of those, lol.

When grooming, we try our best to meet the pups where they are in their life...
1. Sadie needed to stop for extra loving from her favorite McCurry- she's battling some health issues. 🩷
2. Jet is in his "Hannibal Lector" era and had to have support from his mom. 😁
3. Noel is a fiesty older gal who would rather not be groomed at all- BUT, if she has to do it, it must be on my lap while she lies down and thinks of her happy place.💜
You can't have a strict way to do everything- just like us, all dogs are different and require individualized treatment- and that's what they get on The Ridge.🐾

Scout is such a loveable, goofy boy. I say stand up, he lays down- I say lay down, he stands up!
He is one of Holly and Dakota's sweet pups.💙
He is rotten!- and we adore him.- even if he refuses to jump in the back of the car, Allison Ledford .😆
